Ovarian cancer and Johnson's talc

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had surgery a few years ago. I'm very lucky that I'm still here. I've put my name forward to join in the group legal action against Johnson & Johnson with respect to asbestos in talc and the development of ovarian cancer.

I wondered if anyone else on MN has done the same? I can't see any threads but I might just not have searched hard enough.

When were you using talc, if you don’t mind me asking?

To my certain knowledge, from the early-mid 70s onwards. Probably several years earlier than that if my mum used it on me when I was v little, and that's likely the case.

I've got as far as signing consent for the law firm to access my medical records. And I've written to the GP to explain what it's about and to say that I'm not contemplating any action against any HCPs or the NHS. Far from it - I remain extremely grateful to the doctors who saw, diagnosed and treated me so quickly and without whom I wouldn't be here now.

Yes I read about this after doing some general research on asbestos when my house flooded. The ceiling that came down turned out to contain asbestos despite it being banned before the house was built.
Apparently the firm who built my house decided to use old stocks up rather than purchase more...
I wrote to them but didn't get a reply unsurprisingly.
These companies need to be taken to task.
