Biopsy after mammogram

A mammogram 3 weeks ago resulted in an urgent letter at the end of last week, inviting me for further tests today. I've been and had another mammogram, ultrasound and they've taken a biopsy on the back of what they've seen.

Does anyone have any positive stories/outcomes of biopsies please? I'm besides myself with panic.

They did say because it's my first mammogram, they have nothing previous to compare it to in terms of patterns so I'm praying it will all come clear.

I had the same call after my first mammogram. Two biopsies were inconclusive, so I was admitted for surgery within a couple of weeks. A small lump was removed, which proved to be nothing to worry about.
Try not to worry too much, I was dealt with very swiftly, and everyone was so kind to me throughout.

Thank you so much.

I've been given an appointment for the 22nd December for my results but I'm praying they contact me before then to tell me it's nothing!

I've had a biopsy once, turned out to nothing, which I believe is common.

I don't suppose you recall how long it took to get your results?

A week. Then I had to have another because they hadn't picked up enough cells. Given all clear the next week.

I had to go in for a new mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy and it turned out to be an encapsulated necrotic cyst - basically a bruise that turned into a cyst. It needed no treatment and deflated like a balloon.

I had a biopsy after concerning findings after an ultrasound. It was cancer but caught early. 15 years on I'm doing well. Good luck.

Yep. They found some abnormal cells that may - just may - have become problematic at some point in the future. They were sucked out and I now have a titanium clip in there so that the area can be checked easily when I have my next (more frequent) mammogram. So glad they spotted it.

My mum had to have a biopsy. Turned out that the mammogram had picked up some kind of calcium deposit. (Nope, no idea about that - but she was fine.)

I had a biopsy after my first mammogram because there were areas on the film that weren't clear. Iirc I had more images done with spot compression and when they didn't see what they were hoping to see they took some biopsies. That may sound implausible (as I wrote it I thought it didn't sound right 😀) but I asked a lot of questions and this is how I remember them explaining it to me.
I went back for results about a week later and no problems at all, it was fine. Most breast biopsies are benign.
Good luck, hope it's nothing.
