First chemo treatment abandoned

I had my first session of chemo yesterday but felt faint and sick within minutes. They stopped the treatment and gave me piriton but could not get me stable again for around 30 minutes. I was on oxygen for most of that time. They decided not to try me again and it’s gone back to my team. Of course it would be the weekend so I’ll have no idea what is happening till Monday at the earliest.
Looking back, the way my appointment time worked and how far from the hospital we are, I missed the lunch on the ward and last ate 4 hours before the treatment started. I did have food with me but there was so much else going on. The ward was also extremely hot.
My question is, are they likely to try again and is it likely to be ok next time. I’m desperate to get it started.
I intend to buy a personal fan today to take in.

What chemo was it? I had a reaction to my first dose of Paclitaxel - spinning room, hot, vomiting. They got it under control with piriton after about 20 minutes. They then restarted the drip but slowed it down to take 2 hours (rather than the originally intended hour) and I was fine thereafter - had piriton & extra steroids with the drip over 2 hours. Some of the others near me had to have it Iver 3 hours but could still tolerate it. So I'm guessing they may try something similar with you. Good luck.

Yes they are likely to try again but you will be given a load of 'pre-med' stuff to prevent it happening again.

There is a different type of Paclitaxel they might try: nab-Paclitaxel I think it’s called. The active ingredient is the same but the “mixer” is different. It costs more than the standard one, so they reserve it for those who can’t handle the standard one.

I had a bristling sensation each time I had chemo, the body does get used to it but doesn't like it . I hope it settles for you

I'm in a similar situation...
I started cycle one last friday and all was fine for 10 mins, then became very short of breath, and obs went haywire. Given Oxygen and piriton which reversed it within a minute or 2, but it left me quite scared about continuing. I'm seeing the oncologist on Tuesday, but should I ask anything specific?

Thanks
