I had early stage cervical
Cancer and total hysterectomy in Nov. I'm not working again yet and feel like I'm getting better but every now and again I have an off day and today it was major, physical pain, hip, groin, shoulder, I'm convinced cancer has spread although it was caught early. Any medic i speak to reassure me but never had a scan of any type and mine was detected through a smear
They didnt biopsy lymph nodes
When I'm over tired I feel like my groin lymph nodes are pulsating

What do I do next, ignore this fear? Gp? ( been already for any ailment thinking it's cancer )
How do I get further tests or scan?

I didn't have cervical cancer, but breast. Here the consensus seems to be that if you have a new symptom that hangs around for over 2 weeks, then that's a good time to call the breast cancer nurse or visit the GP. I would assume that's similar for your cancer? Logically, a big fat headache for a day or two is probably harmless, but if it's every day for two weeks, then that warrants a scan...

Also - your diagnosis and surgery must still feel very fresh. Would it help to chat through your feelings and concerns with someone at e.g. Macmillan or Penny Brohn or similar? I think most cancer charities offer some degree of counselling, and it might be a relief to talk to someone in the know.

Hope this helps!

Thanks I'm trying to look after mental health and have been very positive and proactive- started where next course at Maggies, personal therapy, etc
It's the strange physical feeling I'm freaking about. I'll have a chat with GP - it must be being over tired and having done too much my body is reacting, I just don't want to risk anything

Did you speak with or do you have the contacts for the clinical nurses specialists (cns) for gynaecology at all. Most specialities within the service have a team who are extremely helpful

I have contact for the gynae ward and the gynae oncology nurse -
so I could contact either of those next week. Thanks
