Skin puckering/dimpling above nipple

I have skin puckering/ dimpling just above my nipple when arm raised. I have checked and there is a pea sized lump there. Not painful. Doesn't move. I do have naturally lumpy breasts. Anyone have similar? Also when I lift my arm up my breast looks a different shape.

Any changes in the look or feel of your breast need checking out straight away.

CallieQ · 05/12/2023 11:20

Yes it's a good idea to get this checked asap

IsItMimi · 05/12/2023 11:21

I think you know this since you've posted it in the cancer topic, but you need to go get that checked out asap. Of course it might not be cancer, but you shouldn't wait around on that basis, go get it checked.

I have called the doctors she didn't seem that bothered and said IV got an appointment a week on Monday quite far away that

Definitely get that checked asap.

I would be a squeaky wheel on this one and push for an earlier appointment. If nothing else it will be less time to be stressed about it and it will be good to get into the breast clinic before christmas if possible.

Hugs.

Go to the GP and ask for a 2 week wait referral to the breast clinic

TwigTheWonderKid · 06/12/2023 16:47

Unfortunately everything is a bit as lower than it should be - if you get referred to the Breast Clinic you are supposed to be seen within 2 weeks but in most areas that is slipping. Therefore I'd insist on an earlier appointment. It doesn't need to be a GP, I was seen and referred to the Breast Clinic by a Nurse Practitioner.

Thanks for getting back to me everyone.
Iv been to the docs she was very reassuring said said she doesn't think it is cancer. Like she's certain it's not. So that's made me feel abit better. But referred me off to the breast clinic to be seen within 2 weeks as I have obvious shape changes. Thanks again.

Well done @Homesweethome93 The majority of women going to the breast clinic do not have cancer but it will be reassuring for you to know you have been fully checked over.

WorriedMutha · 07/12/2023 00:27

I found similar when I was 45 and got referred. The radiologist scanning me said these were normal peri menopausal changes that arise at that age. Obviously it scared the bejesus out of me as I had puckering which seemed to be inverting the nipple. It just resolved itself in a matter of weeks. She said you need to watch for the changes that stick around beyond a normal cycle.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/12/2023 08:14

Well done Homesweethome. You've done the right thing. Its always important to get breast changes checked out.
