Hi, we are off to shell island in a couple of weeks and just brought a new tent, we are so excited and want to 'test drive' the tent this weekend. We live in worcestershire and dont want to venture to far as we only plan to stay 1 or 2 nights, anyone know of any good campsites within the area?
Thanks in advance, a very excited mum.

What facilities are you after? If you want a basic pitch wehre you like site that is cheap, allows campfires and is family friendly then try here

The facilities just consist of portaloos and no showers but it is on the banks of the river Wye and is in a beautiful spot. There is a lovely pub at the site entrance too. You turn up and pitch and the owner comes round in the evening. For one or two nights its lovely.

There are some nice sites near the Forest of Dean if not too far from you? Or a couple near Malvern but their names escape me.

Forgot to add we are in Worcs and go to Tresseck regularly, its not a bad trip to Ross from Worcs

we stayed here once too. It was nice enough, but lots of caravans and not much space in the tent field. We only stayed a night to try out our new tent too

not stayed here but heard good things about it, its on our list of places to try.

Hope you find somewhere.

oh that must be a new rule . I think they are under pressure from the village to keep the noise down so maybe they think no drinking will mean no noise. We have never had a problem with noise there and always have a little drink by the campfire. The owner only pops round once in the early evening so you should be able to have a little drink, as long as you don't get drunk and rowdy
