sleeping bags

We are going camping for the first time and we need some sleeping bags. Tesco is selling them cheaply, is there anything I should be looking out for? Should I go for a 3 seasons sleeping bag even though we will probably only camp in the summer? Then again it can get cold in the summer at night in the UK...

I think you get what you pay for with sleeping bags. I had a cheap one and it didn't last long and wasn't comfy.

I've since upgraded to this - its a 3 season bag and I had a great night's sleep - even in the recent hot weather.

My toddler has one of these and was nice and cosy.

Even when it's really hot during the day, the temperature can drop pretty low around 3am - brrrr.

But you could buy a cheap sleeping bag and then also take your duvet as well - depending on space.

We just take our duvet and don't bother with sleeping bags. If you're camping out of a car and there's room in the car to fit it all in, it doesn't matter about weight, bulk etc. Much nicer snuggling up under a duvet...

We bought Snugpak sleeping bags from the nearest shop to our camping site as soon as we left our freezing cold tent. Our whole family were frozen quite literallly after the worst nights sleep ever. We thought that if we bought Gelert sleeping bags we'd be sorted but we didn't know about the seasons ratings. That night, we had the best nights sleep. Tbh, who'd have thought it would drop below zero in bloody August in Devon?

we've just bought these with free p&p:

www.e-outdoor.co.uk/detail.aspx?id=5790&utm_source=Froogle&utm_medium=PriceComp&utm_term=Froogle&utm content=None&utmcampaign=PriceComp1
They're 3 season and are nice and wide (wider then the Gelert sleeping Pods for example) at 110 cm wide so great if you are a side sleeper and hate feeling trapped inside sleeping bags)

got this one for two year old www.skiwear4less.com/acatalog/Vango_Kids_Galaxy_Midi_Sleeping_Bag.html

this is only 2 season, they didn't do a 3 season one in this size. Again nice and wide, lots of room.

and this one for 5 year old:
www.springfield-camping.co.uk/Vango/Sleeping+Bags/Sonno+DLX/1875/pc

this one is 3/4 season so should be nice and warm for her.
They have all arrived now and look to be lovely and warm and cosy. Can't wait to use them.

I know alot of people use quilts. I can't I feel the cold so badly. We had to come home after one night last year we were so cold as we had just taken quilts and blankets.
