I have never camped with a small baby. Any advice would be gratefully received. DD2 is 9 weeks old, and EBF. She is used to sleeping in a gro-bag, and I have a travel cot.

Many thanks

I would suggest a Baby Bouncer or small Beanbag to lie her on when she's awake so she's off the ground. Also I used cut up multi-cloths for face washing etc. as you can just throw them away when finished.

Have fun

Hi

Youngest we have camped with is 5 weeks.

Something to sit in is impotant but car seat might be fine depending on what type you ahve and if removable from car,

Bed- we always kept our baby with us tbh, otehrwise you can get either travel cots or inflatable beds from Kampa that may suit.

Bedding- layers. Nights can be very cold or very warm in peak season; lots of cotton layers and a grobag is ideal tbh. A typical one forr us would ahve been baby vest, baby cotton sleepsiuit, cardi for arms (cotrton again is poss), groba, and fleece balanket- add or take away as needed.

Sterlilsing- I was lucky enough to BF and then it's a doddle (comfy chair, good book, lots of water on standby- it's quite easy to forget to drink when camping IME).

Reading with interest - about to attempt camping with three daughters - youngest 3mths who isn't sleeping brilliantly at night - is it a ridiculous idea ? will she keep everyone awake???!!

We took our 12 week old to a festival last summer - she slept in her pram whilst wearing a vest, babygro, all-in-one fleecy suit thing with hood and a grobag; slept brilliantly and woke each morning with rosy cheeks due to being so well wrapped up. This year she'll be sleeping in a travel cot but her pram kept her off the ground and was snugly so we didn't bother with anything else last year.

We also took her bouncy chair thingy for during the day, used a plastic box filled with cold water and a Milton tablet for sterilising the odd bottle (just left bottles in it until we needed them). This year she will eat whilst strapped into the pushchair or whilst mucking around in the mud/grass - I'm not taking a highchair!

The wonder of camping is that no-one will be able to tell that it's your baby that's kept everyone up - don't mention it if it happens and everyone will assume it was some other baby because they can't tell through canvas!
