power for medical equipment overnight while camping

I am really hoping to go camping over the summer, but due to having sleep apnea i need to use an airway machine (CPAP) overnight - which runs on mains at home.

My nurse mentioned something about the vague possibility of it running off a 9V battery, but he wasnt too sure. I dont really want to run it via the car overnight - as surely that would flatten the battery?

Are there any other options? Has anyone any experience of this?

You want to look for campsites with electric hook ups. Then you can just use their electricity supply.

DH also has OSA, and uses a CPAP. To go camping we have a Power Pack which is enough for 5 nights for his non humidifier CPAP.

They are very convenient as you can use a mains airbed pump and things as well without being tied to an electric hookup

thanks guys

Pfft - the family already use a campsite - well, it is actually only a field with a pub at the end so no hook ups. Will bear that in mind for next time though.

Thanks CMOT - will definitely get me one of those

You do just need to check on the drain of your CPAP - DH's normal one is too much to run on batteries at all, but he has a small travel one which is fine.

He has had the 'designed for CPAP' batteries too, but tbh they were useless compared to the power pack which is v practical as multiuse

BTW, camping with DH is immeasurably more pleasant with him on CPAP than when he snored
