hi,
Having camped this weeked with a 1 year old and 3 year old, I realize that the wee camping stove that DH and I used to use is just not big and bad enough for the family that we have become, so am looking for recommendations for camping stoves..
Anyone have one or used one they think is brilliant - it would help if its not too heavy or unwieldy as we like to take the train or fly to places we intend to camp..
Thanks for your help.

Which one have you used on this camping trip camperli? We have just brought a new one-its a campingaz with the little grill underneath-its great and is also on offer in yeomans outdoors (instore and online)at mo. I know some people have said the grill isnt needed but I also like it. we also take a griddle with us that you can put over one "hob" to make it bigger.
It also packs into a good box and all fits together to flat pack

We have the one Amummy has but it's on a stand.

We went for that one as we need 2 burners and I want it off the floor(twin 6 year old boys).

I looked high and low for a small, light stand that could be multi purpose with the view to plonking the version they do that comes without the stand onto it. In the end found out all the stands we could find were either bigger or heavier or not as sturdy(very collapsable).

We're really pleased with it as the whole thing, stand and all fits into a bag, isn't too heavy and the cooker can be bolted on to the stand so even safer, the legs are slightly adjustable for uneven ground. Trying it out this weekend so will let you know .

We didn't use anything this trip due to the fact that I couldn't find DH's precious family heirloom of a camping stove that has gone missing since we moved house!
Ahem.
Anyway, we're looking at the COBB barbeque stove which looks pricey but portable and useable overseas as well as in the UK. Camping gaz good but can't take it on aircraft and am loath to get to France and have to work out where to buy gas from in French - or is that easier than I imagine?

I can't work out how the COBB barbeque switches off though....any ideas?
