Child-size sleeping bags....

....are they worth bothering with, or just go for full size ones?
Any recommendations?
What kind of rating for spring-summer camping in the UK?
Preferably ones that don't only come in blue or pink too - something unisex that can be passed down!!
It's for a 6 and (almost) 3 year old.
Actually, while I'm here, do you bother with airbeds for your kids, or just use camping mats (the foam roll-up mat things)?
Thanks!!

We never bothered with child sized sleeping bags. We just got adult ones from Millets. They're quite good quality without being fiendishly expensive, and because they're fluffy, they sort of settled round the kids' feet, and no-one complained of cold toes.

After all, you're only going to use them a couple of times a year, and the kids grow so fast. We've used the same ones for about seven years now.

We got 3/4 seasons too, and have been glad of them. It's surprising how cold spring/summer nights can be.

We also got blow-up mattresses (Argos). The kids are prepared to sleep on roll mats with the Scouts, but I know they're hideously uncomfortable, and for us, camping's supposed to be a holiday, not a route march.

Use adult ones. Some people worry about little children sliding down inside them and getting too hot - you can always fold them over at the bottom and hold it with some tacking stitches. Hey presto - expanding sleeping bags!
