Have just booked this site here via eurocamp in a static for May half term. I was wondering if any of you had been there or nearby and had any reccomendations?

Any tips on places to eat, ride to on the bikes or days out would be great.

Also, anyone know what the weather is like down there end of May / start of June. I'm expecting sunshine and showers a la Cornwall but didn't know if has a micro climate seeing as it's slightly round the corner from the Atlantic.

not been to site but been to carnac area several times - its lovely. men du is our favourite beach. if you get a detailed map there are also some beaches the other side of carnac off the beaten track. we had a picnick in a field beside one once that was full of wild orchids. weather is better than cornwall and northern brittany. it can rain but might be nice and sunny - like south coast here but bit warmer and drier. you ought to visit the standing stones at carnac. if you go past men du beach there's a good supermarket on the left - travelling towards carnac. a bit past the supermarket there are lots of restuarants/bars - go off the main road to find the best ones. vannes and auray are really pretty towns - very old. south of carnac there's an area that has lots of inlets thats pretty -sorry can't remember name. there are some really pretty viewing points - suggest getting a detailed map and searching them out - think there's one a bit south of tinite we used to go to, overlooking estuary = boys used to crab. market is good at trinite. also good market at carnac with cooked chicken and pots that my whole family drooled over. a penisular the other side of carnac is also worth going to.

Thanks for that - we are taking our bikes so might try biking into Carnac.

Yes we have been to the site - its lovely - very well kept and very nice owners. It has a lovely play park which is great even up to age 12. Carnac and Trinity both interesting and nice holiday places.
For more info about our holidays please have a look at www.bestfrenchcampsites.com which shows a lot of the places we went from La Baie at Trinity. The sister site La Plage has complete beach access as opposed to crossing a car park ! It is available with Eurocamp. Have a lovely holiday.
You can walk around the coast right into Trinity Sur Mer which is lovely. It also has a great fish market and a market which the kids enjoyed. Carnac museum and of course the standing stones are must sees as well. The market in Carnac is bigger and busier than the one at Trinite.

yes we cycled from Trinite into Carnac - a lot is offroad and you just have to be careful on the other bits. In fact we did this quite a lot and its a good way to get to the market as its probably difficult to get parked on market day. We went to the supermarket that was half way along the main road in Carnac, but there is also a nice smaller one just behind the main shops at Trinite.
Definitely visit this place as we loved our holiday. If you want an even nicer beach in a quieter bit of Brittany for next year then try Les Deux Fontaines or Raguenes Plage campsites at Nevez. We have thoroughly enjoyed both these holidays.
Although still the only place I have been tempted to swim in the sea was St Cast on the north coast of Brittany !!

We have booked 2 weeks at Les Deux Fontaines with Keycamp, so I was chuffed to see a positive mention here! There will be 6 of us, myself and DH, DD (2) and DS (5) & also DSD (13) and DSS (16), so I'm hoping that although a smaller site, it will have enough to do for all these age groups! Hope everyone enjoys their camping this summer, getting quite excited about it now!

kentish - we've been there - really liked it - you can walk through farmland to the beach - nice local one. there are some others that are lovely that you need to drive to - think it was raguenes that was our favourite - you park on grass verge by the road. site has a massive field where people congretated to play cricket/football etc. good pitch size and nice and quiet where we were at night
