Quechua 4,2 - is there any reason I SHOULDN'T get it?

Hello camping laydeez

I'm a LP with small DC and am finally thinking of investing in my own tent rather than borrowing other people's! I'll be putting the tent up and taking it down on my own and I am about 5'4".

Possible? Or are there better alternatives? (similar sort of price)

Thanks

They're BRILLIANT!! I thoroughly recommend them. I keep a couple of 2 man Quechua's in my campervan for DS14 and his mates. They've survived flood, gale, famine, plague and teenagers - having an integral groundsheet means you don't get washed out - even in Wales. The only minor flaw with the 2 man ones is the lack of 'porch' to stop rain wetting the entrance flap (not sure which model you're thinking of, perhaps they've thought of that now) so, in my case if the weather's threatening, we erect them with the door just in the shelter of the campervan awning or, at festivals, my older DC's set up their tents with the doorways facing into a central gazebo or tarp of some kind. Any extra faffing around is not what you want with a toddler under one arm, of course but, as a seasoned outdoorsie type, the bliss of a complete tent that's up, literally in two seconds...Mastering the putting it down is a bit trickier, but once you've got the idea, easy-peasy - really. Just don't let on or you'll get everyone else with a pop-up wanting you to do theirs too.

Ooh thank you! Am thinking of the base 4.2 which has a little awning over the doorway so hopefully would act as a bit of a shelter.

Anyone else got one? I am slightly suspicious they are a bit too good to be true

Do a search cos someone here bought one last year.

Must say - they do look fab

Thanks Furball - found a couple of threads from people singing their praises so I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get one. Exciting though!

tis exciting - especially when you turn up at the site and ping it's up! No faff

Think you might have to learn 'a knack' to put it away though.

I nearly bought one, but the nearest supplier was yonks away.

My friends all had faces like this at the weekend because they were so jealous of my wonderful tent.

It's absolutely brilliant

Hi

I've just mentioned this tent on another camping thread. I bought one last year - and am a complete convert. No more faffing about with poles.

the only slight downside is in very high winds they sway a bit. but not enough to put you of. I went to decathlon and made the sales chap show me at least 10 times how to take it down. Now I have the knack it is easy.

Honestly best tent purchase ever. I've also fashioned a bit of tarp over the front as an extra awning.

Not sure if you are aware (just happened to be googling earlier) is that they are doing a 4.1 now which is one big bedroom.

very recommended (not shareholder in quechua by the way)!
