Weve just booked for a week in the summer with our touring caravan. Have read reviews on a couple of websites, but would appreciate more, good or bad.

Also, what is the surrounding area around the site like, we zoomed in on the map and it looks like its in the middle of an industrial estate (!!!). Couldnt get really close so cant be sure but there was no mention of this on the website, or on any of the reviews (which on the whole were ok).

NO

strue - what do you mean by that. Please say more. Honestly, if you have a bad review i really dont mind, would prefer to know.

yeah it's really awful. Seriously, just don't go there.

Well your posts are a bit pointless unless you elaborate a bit more. Come on, just say what you have to say. I really dont mind how bad it is, would prefer to know.

We stayed there 2 summers agoo (2008) with our caravan. The site was lovely and we were really lucky re our pitch. The indoor pool is just slides - but great fun. The outdoor pool was warm and not too crowded.

The childrens club catered mainly for French children, staff only spoke a little English, so DD only went to one session there.

There are some good beaches nearby - sorry can't remeber any names, but we were only there for 5/6 days so didn't get much chance to explore locally, (I think you could cycle directly from the site to a local beach).

Hope you have a great time - croissants from the shop were amazing!

JGB - thanks for your reply, the reviews I've seen are good on the whole, similar to what you've posted. Although there were one or two gripes (nothing that put us off booking).

Just waiting to see if strue is playing games here or not. Non of the reviews Ive seen have said its awful or that they wouldnt go again. Like I say, one or two gripes about minor things.

You're welcome.

Its a few years since we went there but I remember it as being really nice, near to Granville I think, really nice beaches very close to the site.

I stayed there with my sister and our 2 kids aged 5 & 6 two summers ago. We were there for a week. I thought it was fine, nice beaches, you can hire bikes, lots of space to run around and a small playground. We did not use the kids club, so I can't comment on that. I can't remember anything we didn't like or any problems.

We've been twice, (about 3-4 yrs ago). It's a quiet park and more suited to families with children probably up to age of about 10. My children loved the indoor water slides and there is also an outdoor pool and a play area. The nearby beaches were fantastic - if you get good weather it's the perfect holiday. We had a lovely time and have since recommended to friends who also had a good holiday. Mont St. Michel is nearby and a good day out and the Bayeux tapestry isn't far if you feel in need of some culture. You'll have a lovely time!

We have stayed twice in the same year. I went with my mum at the start if the season - it was good - very clean, lots for little children - the inside pool is basically just slides though no indoor pool for swimming

They will not let you wear shorts for swimming - very strict on the trunks rule

There is an outdoor pool which is ok if weather good.
There is a nice play area for the kids and a couple of bouncy castles.

Shop is good - fresh bread/croissants in the morning. Bar is ok - no restaurant on site but a take away.

BUT the second time we were there was with dh - we stopped off for a night after being further south - this was at the end of the season

It was not as clean - the whole area seemed tired and shabby. The caravan was dirty - dust everywhere and there were rats running around. I saw a rat trying to get into a caravan that was open - they had a stair gate across the door and it was trying to get in.

I told Eurocamp or Keycamp cant remember and they basically said theres no point saying anything - nothing will be done about it. I reported it to the main reception anyway and they said they would look into it but tbh dont think they were very interested

I saw the rat quite a few times - the same rat or more Im not sure but it certainly wasnt shy!

Blimey racmac, I could put up with a few gripes but RATS!! You've got me rather worried now. How long ago were you there?

Ive told DH and he's trying to convince me it will be ok. The site is recommended by caravan club and he says they dont recommend lightly because they have a good reputation for cleanliness etc. He also said you could see one or two rats anywhere.

Flippin heck, am seriously worried now tho. We are taking our own caravan but will be putting an awning up, the thought of rats sneaking into our awning and crawling over our table/chairs/cooler boxes etc makes me sick.

I think rats are probably quite common in these places - think about all the people that drop bits of food - its great for them.

You will be ok in own caravan though - its clean i presume and just be careful not to drop food around the caravan

I was there 2 years ago

I would still go back because i think they are probably at every site but you dont normally see them

Im sure you will have a lovely time - sorry for worrying you
