Camp bestival

I have a tent and all my mates have camper vans, we are all thinking for going to camp bestival, so my question is, can we camp next to each other? Can the vans keep a spot for us? I know it says on the website that they are separate, but they are next to each other. So could we sneak our tent in? Has anyone do something similar? Would you still go if you had to be a billy no mates with your mates having s time of it in another field?

Hi
On camp bestival website it says:
You will be allocated 9 x 6 meters of space per campervan pitch to use for your campervan, awning and/or to accommodate a few of your friend's tents. If you require more space you will need to buy more than one campervan ticket.
Hope this helps

The campervanas and tents are in completely different fields (well, they were last year). I don't think you'll be allowed to do what you are suggesting. Definitely go though, it's fab and you'll only be in your tent for sleeping anyway.

Just read baby's post, I stand corrected!

Yeah! Hip hip hooray!! Thanks all. I am dead dead excited. I am a camp bestival virgin. What are my must do/sees and I am going with a funny 18m old and a dodgy 33y old (DH)

We went last year, it was absolutely fab. I hardly saw any any of the bands (although heard plenty!), spent most of the time in the Kids Garden with DS. You must see Mr Tumble. And you must at least get your toddler in fancy dress (once we know what the theme is). The costumes last year were fab (I'm still smarting about the fact that we didn't win the competition, we was robbed !)

The food is wonderful but beware because the cost builds up really quickly. We were 5 last year and buying 3 meals a day for all of us, plus snacks and drinks, ended up costing a fortune. So this year I am going to do some serious planning and make sure we buy less. We weren't sure whether cooking equipment was going to be allowed so we didn't take any. Everyone else had theirs, so this year we are going fully equipped so we can at least make a cup of tea! It's difficult planning camping food for 3/4 days though when you don't have a fridge. Beans on toast, scrambled egg on toast, as I said, it needs some thought! One thing we did do was smuggle booze in as the beer was overpriced.

We didn't manage to get showers, I'm not a seasoned festival goer so that lack of hygiene got to me a bit! If we take a stove this year we should at least get hot water to wash in. I felt we had to over-rely on babywipes last year.

I'll post more if I think of anything. Perhaps we should have a MN meet up!

We went last year first time to a festival not keen on camping if I'm honest. One thing that loads of kids were wearing was ear defenders www.amazon.co.uk/Peltor-Kids-ear-defenders-pairs/dp/B000ND51D0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&q id=1262808574&sr=8-1 I wish we had bought these for our DS as he hated the noise.
Also saw families with these trolley wagons, and the children were sat in them great idea.

GiddyKipper- thanks for the info! We should do a MN get together for sure.

As for the food, yeah I was thinking to bring in snacks, a couple of lunches and at least one main meal. Will get my campervan mates to lug the heavy stuff. When we go camping it is alot of pesto and pasta, bacon sarnies and PBJ.

We do have a really good cool box that lasts for 36 hours so thats something. Was thinking to maybe go off site and get some local fish to bbq? I dunno. Lots to plan and get tres excited about!!

Agree about the wagons baby, either these or these. Great for taking your camping gear in and then you can make a cosy bed for the kids to sleep in when you are out at night. Think we'll get one this year.

i love my radio flyer but a bit of a pain to transport as pita to take wheels off and one... would recommend seeing if you can borrow a 3 wheel pushchair as has been best thing at variios festivals as combination wheelbarrow and also bed for later.....
