After this weekend away where i froze my arse off we need to buy 2 new doubles as we have to co sleep with dd3 and dd4 (we take one each!) Can anyone recommend any, preferably not too expensive?
Thanks

isn't the issue more the air escaping out of the sleeping bags at the top? So either you'd have to get mummy type bags that have a baffle around the shoulders or go to bed with lots of fleece layers on to keep warm. The former wouldn't be co-sleeping though would it??

Mummy bags are out as need to turn over to bf from each side, our sleeping bags were given to us by my inlaws and are really thin, so need something thicker.

Get a sleeping bag each. Then you in each sleeping bag, huddle up together under a big warm blanket.

Hate to say it but double sleeping bag isn't the way to keep warm - you do get a draft between you IME! DH and I have link-able mummy-shape sleeping bags and separate warmth tends to win out over connected intimacy!

Most mummy-style sleeping bags come in left or right zip so you can double them up, then when you outgrow co-sleeping (I presume you do at some point? ) you have a decent set of family sleeping bags for future trips.

If you wear say a thermal long sleeved top (helly hansen type) that should keep your shoulders warm.

I have been wearing uber sexy flannelette pj's as well, i think the answer maybe new double's and a fleece camp blanket each!

Nah - get yourself down to the army surplus and get some REAL wool blankets.

I take our feather duvet and lots and lots of fleece blankets when camping . Thankfully I am only partially co-sleeping these days so that is mostly just for DH and I.

Both boys seem happy to sleep in mummy sleeping bags, but I always put them in fleecy pyjamas to keep their top half warm if they manage to wriggle out a bit.

Have you searched online for a double fleece sleeping bag liner - that might help and be a bit cheaper.

We took our quilts last time and it was lovely but space is a real issue until we can get a trailer as we have the smallest mpv known to man! We have to fit all our camping gear and 4 kids, 1 dog and 2 adults in this!

OMG not sure how you manage at all, you obviously travel a lot lighter than us

Believe me it is a squeeze but we are determined to have weekends away so we cram it all in and lock the doors quick incase it all bursts open

I've just seen a lovely outwell double sleeping bag whilst searching. Nothing will stop me packing several fleece blankets just in case though (I learn from my mistakes )
