Eurocamp/Keycamp Holiday in France or Italy - need suggestions

We have decided to try one of the Eurocamp (or similar) holidays abroad in south of France or maybe Italy for the first time.We are going Whitsun week so really want to go where the weather is most settled and also where the pools will be warm enough to swim in. Have 2 children aged 5 and 10 who love waterslides etc. and would quite like to be near a beach. Have looked at Bella Italia in Italy which seems nice although very big. Am not sure what area in France to look at, but have seen a few nice sites in the Langudoc area. I know it is quite early in the season, so not sure if the camps will be running at full speed. Can anyone recommend any good sites they have been to, to help us choose!

Will you be driving to the camp?

jammie · 19/04/2009 16:26

No, we were planning on a fly drive preferably from Stansted.

We have booked Ca'Savio on the Lido near Venice. Flights to Marco Polo were cheap. The site is on the beach and you can get a bus/ferry taxi to Venice.

Go here it is fantastic!! booked to go back this year as soon as we got back last year! Fly into marco Polo at Venice and get the atvo bus www.atvo.it direct to site. Then chill by the pools and onsite beach! Have a day in venice and another at the waterpark in caorle (20 mins on local us/coach).

I'm going to watch this thread with interest because we're looking at a Keycamp holiday in Lake Garda and/or Tuscany for next year but can't decide which one to go to.

I've wittered about this in a previous life

here

Hope that helps. Beach at San Vincenzo was lovely, but quiet site. Norcenni was the best site in terms of pools.

In the past, we have done the French Life, Keycamp and and independent site. The independent wins - no contest!

Try this site: www.directholidayhomes.co.uk/prop_ref_1676.html

Website doesn't do it justice.

Run by an english couple but a french chef. Entertainment - How they worked at it! (Basic clubhouse) They even had the circus on site for a night. Lovely and clean site - lovely pools (x3). Kids entertained - watch them go out on jeep patrol!

Very large number of towns and restaurants nearby. Great sandy beach.

Leslaki, are you on commission?

We went to Union Lido in June, near to there when dd was 3.5. It was fab. It was very warm, and we intended to go to Venice at least once, but actually never left the site in a week. 2 water parks, umpteen restautants, takwaways, baby disco.

LOL

I saw this thread and thought, ooh, I'll just cut and paste what I put before. Then noticed I already had!

Hadn't noticed the dates

try le lac de reves in south of france. We usually fly by ryan air from stansted to montepeliar and then it is a ten minute taxi ride to site. (or you can hire a car) I dont think ryan air are flying there from stansted any more but i tink easy jet are.

we've had two great holidays there

I can highly recommend Girasole, in Tuscany. We loved it there.

Lots for the DC to do, and they do bus trips to areas of interest round about. (Siena, Florence, Greve in Chianti).

With wee ones I would definitely book in the upper campsite, the pool is great for toddlers or nonswimmers and the big chute should keep your 10yo busy for a while.

Wine bar in the villa was lovely for a peaceful evening.
