Toddler proofing a caravan - any tips?

I am highly excited to have collected our new caravan this afternoon. But now that we have it at home I am wondering how to toddler proof it - any suggestions gratefully recieved. We are caravan novices so don't know if it is a v bad idea to fit extra things / drill holes in walls!

My main worry is the potential for falling out of the windows and door. The little latches look very easy to undo from the inside and the half door just has a little plastic flap thing - dd went straight to it. And if the windows are open... is it just a matter of not opening them? Also the heater - how hot do they get? If dd (or DH and I after wine) stumble agaisnt it I guess it wouldn't be too hot?

I have a caravan and haven't found a way to make it toddler proof! mine is into everything and the only way to prevent accidents in it is to keep your eyes on them the whole time it shouldn't be too hard to do this as it is a relatively small space. the heaters get extremely hot so we use a fan heater high up on the kitchen work top. the latches are easy for them to open, you can put other fixings on them but this could damage your van walls. maybe a small bungee type thing may help? windows are very easy to fall out of as they are low down with furniture right under them which toddlers climb on. only open the least obvious ones, like the kitchen window, sky lights etc and corner windows or failing that just watch them like a hawk. if you have an awning like we do, then let them play in that when you are cooking etc. It sounds difficult, but you will adjust. Having a caravan is great fun and gets easier each time you use it, as you learn more about what works best for your family. good luck and happy camping!

I have two of these fixed together outside surrounding the patio for my little mindees, could you use one outside attached to the van?
