It looks lovely and sunny out there... do you have a heater for cold evenings?

Glitterknickaz · 20/03/2009 12:32

No, but I could get one....

Im going!

no EHU and no heating!

SuperBunny · 21/03/2009 01:27

Yes, yes, go! We always used to camp at Easter. Usually Shropshire. Putting a snow-covered tent away is interesting. On the plus side, a layer of snow is a great insulator.

Have you got dc's and if so, how old are they? I'm a bit lame, so won't be going camping just yet cos it'll be FREEZING!!!!!! I've just got up and there's frost on the cars, so that's enough to make me want to stay in my bed for a few more weeks Good luck if you do though and have fun

we're off to scotts farm at witterings. Will be going on the Thurday and if the weather is dry staying until Tuesday.

No heater, no hookup just lots of fleeces and mugs of hot chocolate.

Glitterknickaz · 21/03/2009 16:27

nikki - scotts farm is where we're hoping to go! Fri to Mon though

DCs are 5, 3 (nearly 4) and 9 months

It can get very windy so make sure that you have good tent pegs - we upgraded all of our pegs to the 1/2 in thick gravel pegs.

Lovely site - the play area is fab, although sandy at the bottom so may be a pain with your 9mo. DS6 and DD4 go over on their own with a digital walkie talkie and because the main road is so far from the camping fields it feels safe for them.

milkybarsrus · 21/03/2009 21:16

nikki21- interested in what a digital walkie talkie is and where do you buy them please? sorry for hijack .

nikkid21 · 22/03/2009 10:31

we got ours from ldi or lidl last year for about £30. They recharge on the mains and have a distance of up to 5 miles. There are 30 odd channels sp if someone nearby also has a set you can switch to another channel.

They are invaluable camping as if i'm taking one child to the loo and then the other one needs to go dh just lets me know that he's on the way over to the toilet block.

Also good at legoland etc.

eek decisions....
we decided not to go as it was going to be cold.... the predicted temperatures are rising but so is the risk of rain...
