Sleeping bags.
Foam roll mats
Stove
Dustpan and brush
Camping chairs
Maybe one of those folding picnic tables with the seats atatched.

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 10:50

What sort of stove should we get? Is there one style which is better than another?

OP posts:
Phoenix · 21/02/2009 10:51

Sleeping Bags
Air beds
Extra blankets (you won't believe how cold it gets even in summer)
Stove/gas
Pans
Water carrier
Plates/cuttlery
Kettle
Cups
Wash bowl (if not to wash up at the tent then to carry stuff to the wash room)
Camping chairs
Table

Phoenix · 21/02/2009 10:54

At the mo we've got 2 of these but we are looking to get more of a family stove for this year.

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 10:56

DH and I and 15 month old dd

Phoenix · 21/02/2009 11:02

The one i linked to before runs off these or if you want to buy a big gas bottle there are ones like this one

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 11:08

I think we only need a little one to start with, what sort of things could we cook on the little one you linked to Phoenix

OP posts:
Phoenix · 21/02/2009 11:15

We're not the greatest camping cookers and you'll be limited more with just one.

If you search through the camping topic you'll find some threads about cooking.

We do fry-ups, tinned food (beans, spag, soup), rice. We did a chicken stir fry once.

You could take home made meals and re-warm them (spag bol, chilli etc.)

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 11:30

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 12:09

I've just done a bit of googling and to be buy a two burner would be about £35 and then £35 for the gas I think.

I could buy 2 one buners as phoneix linked to above for £20 and 4 gas cans for £10 and this works out cheaper so would it be a better idea?

OP posts:
ShambolicBaby · 21/02/2009 12:14

how long are you going for?

can you have something cold for breakfast, sandwich or lunch out and take a throw away bbq for dinner for £2

FabioTheScaredyCat · 21/02/2009 12:17

I recommend you take your credit card.
Then you can book into the nearest hotel.

HTH.

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 12:17

Phoenix · 21/02/2009 12:19

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 21/02/2009 12:21

I reckon we be ok with a BBQ and a one burner, how long do the cans of gas last?

OP posts:
mascarpone · 21/02/2009 12:30
