New Forest campsites... any recommendations?

Thinking of going here this summer. Have checked out ukcampsite, but the ones I fancied all have very average/bad reviews. We're looking for:

Big pitches
Showers/toilets
Quiet at night
Camp fires allowed if poss
Close enough to cycle/walk through the forest without having to use roads.
Don't want:

Clubhouse/bar
swimming pool

This is a big ask I know, but would be grateful for any advice/recommendations you have.

PS I live in Norfolk so am happy to offer advice on campsites etc local to me. Thanks.

We have camped several times at Redshoot site which ticks some of your boxes.

It is in the forest and a fair way from any towns/villages - a forest road runs past it but you can walk straight into the forest/onto the heathland if you want. Ponies nearby but can't come onto the site and rummage through your tent due to the cattle grid which is a blessing!

Nice toilet and shower block with washing up area. Laundry room. Small shop which stocks the basics and has facilities for you to hire freezer blocks for your cool box.

No camp fires.

Quiet at night - just people chatting round their own tents.

No clubhouse but the site is behind a pub which does meals. You can request a pitch a long way from this and we've never had any disturbance from it. Because the site is so isolated, it's only used by campers and walkers anyway.

No pool. Just a tiny play area for kids outside the shop.

The pitches aren't that big and that's a drawback. But other than that, we've gone to the site for several years and really enjoyed it (and I hate noisy, busy sites with a passion - my idea of hell is one with all mod cons!)

Thanks slayerette - looks lovely but a little pricy in the summer holidays - £31.50 a night is quite a lot. However, may be well worth it! Will bookmark this one as it looks very good.

How about this one?

Have not looked at prices but can vouch for area as my parents live up the road!

All New Forest campsites will be busy in summer hols, especially if the weather is good.

Not sure that you will find one that allow campfires, very few sites do now I think. The only one I know of is Blackberry Wood in Brighton.

Ashurst, but no fires allowed (does anywhere in the Forest allow them?)- and first come, first served in terms of pitches. No marked pitches, just a properly enforced distance rule. Went for a long weekend last July, pre school hols and it was great!

I like Hollands Wood.

You need to browse the forest holidayts website really, dfinitely the way to go when new foresting without needing clubs etc.
