Can anyone recommend a really good family tent that is easy to put up with 2 adults?

Hi we have a Vango diablo 900 but it has a broken pole and zips that unzip when you've zipped them up (?) We don't have the receipt to take it back as it is second hand and are debating whether it is worth repairing or buying a new tent in the sales that are on at the mo.

We have 2 adults
2 children ds has to go in his travel cot (10 months)
2 dogs 1 has to sleep in his cage otherwise he may just eat his way out of the tent!

We liked the 900 as it had 3 separate pods, a living area and a porch which was invaluable when it started raining but dh and I broke a pole last year whilst trying to put it up and this year we had 3 tall men putting it up and the pole has again snapped though we don?t know when, we found it snapped when taking it down.

What would you recommend?

We have a Euro Hike Family tent (6man, 2sleeping compartments and a central compartment.

Plenty of room in the sleeping compartments (we all slept in one (me, DH, DS1 (age 3.8) and DS2 who was only 11wks at the time. DH managed to do the majority of putting it up himself while i was feeding the baby and I just held the poles in place the one side when he needed me too

Oh we got it in the sale from millets just before the summer school holidays for about £50

We have teh Outwell Vermont XL and I LOVE it. Has the 3 separate sleeping areas plus a huge living area which has a 'cupboard' as well (I put the 'luggable loo' in there!).

Also a huge porch which is great for kicking off shoes so no wet gets into the main part of the tent.

It's ridiculously easy to put up - myself and my friend can put it up in about 30-40 mins and it's a doddle because it's a tunnel tent and it's impossible to mix up the poles. It has a SIG and all the pods are in so once you've pegged out, that's it - nothing to do on the inside.

Outwell Montana 12 very easy to put up.

Vango Amazon 800. The living space is as big as our living room at home. The tent is 6m x 5m approx with three separate bedrooms across the back. There is a huge porch, and also 2/3rds of the front unzips, which is very handy if you need to move a laden table in when the rain starts! The poles are all the same, so it's hard to get it wrong. It has windows (with roll up curtains which velcro on), 2 side doors which is great for ventilation. TBH it's got more space than we need for 4 of us, but it's brilliant if you're camping for more than a few days. I'd fully recommend it.

surprise sooooooo jealous of your Amazon it is the tent I daydream about whilst cramped up in our Orchy 500..maybe next year

dh is thinking new tent rather than repair as we find it difficult to put up.

twofishes - it is lovely, just wish we'd been able to get more use out of it this summer

we had a sunvalley 6 tunnel tent which was easy to put up but def needed 2 of you. does weigh a ton when packed but lovely and spacious 2 bedrooms, which can be unzipped to make 1, large standupable living space. decent porch for shoes, cooking etc. Would def recommend

Khayam Kansas 8 - tunnelly thing, easy to put up poles, sig, v wind and rain proof IME, cost us about 200 quid last year, bedrooms at either end, large middle living space, bedrooms splits into 2 x 2 or can be 1x4 at each end can't link as computer crap at the moment.

I second the Vango Amazon range, ours is the 6 man version, 3 bedrooms, huge living area and porch. Only bought it this year and we are chuffed to bits with it. My husband and I put it up really easily, even the first time we did it ( and I am well rubbish at that type of thing and just generally faff about whilst my husband does it all ). We got the carpet as well, its great......

We've got a Vango Nile 600 - it's a tunnel tent with 2 'rooms' but then it has two side pods that can be zipped on or off as required. One fits a travel cot easily and the other is great for storage. It was cheaper I think than the vermont (£369) but smaller.... hasn't really got a separate porch but was very waterproof in the bank holiday rain - we (me, Dh and 3DC) think it's great!
