Thought it might be a good idea to list tents and say what the good and bad points are?

We have a 7 year old Coleman Weathermaster. It has a sig, a bedroom at either end and a living space in between.

On the plus side, it's very sturdy, pitches easily and fly first and has some useful pockets inside. Has rarely let us down despite DS having made a sizeable hole in it with his toy sword

Minuses - the porch is a bit rubbish - it's basically a flap which lifts up on two poles. So if you try to use it when it rains you still get wet from the sides and also the rain collects in it, causing a huge dip in the middle.

We've been looking to buy a new tent, which has a bigger living area so if anyone would like post details of their tent then feel free!

We have a Khyam tourer 600 (about 6 years old now!) It is very big - 7m x 5m (T shape)and has 3 good-sized pod bedrooms, plus a "lounge"! The inners have sewn-in groundsheets, plus the whole tent has a non-sewn-in groundsheet.

The plus points are it is VERY easy to pitch, strong in winds and no leakage atall so far. Also, inners hang inside so you can pitch in rain, though we have never had to!!! You can stand in the lounge.

The minuses are that I would like a porch area - also a flap - probs as above, but these are liveable with!

i have an Outwell Monty 6
It has a sig,2 adjacent bedrooms that can become one
I like:
The bedrooms
The big big living space
The sturdiness
The quick easy pitching
The integral flynets at windows and doors
The lickle window at head height that i can spy out of to check the weather without getting out of my sleeping bag
The zippy up holes for the cables
The side wet weather porch

I don't like:
The high trippy uppy door thing for the front door (it doesn't matter how many times you tell a 4 year old..it just doesn't sink in)
The side porch groundsheet..i can never quite make it fit properly(perhaps it's me)

we have a vango diablo, only bought it last year. Its huge, Has three bed rooms that sleep 3 in each, big lounge area that even DP can stand in (he's 6'2) and a big porch which is really useful, use that bit as a kitchen area.

downsides, because its so large its a bit difficult to put up, defo need two people

Vango Diabolo 400 (hi memoo) mine is the 2 bedroom version. mahoosive living room. Huge porch for stuff, wellies, cooking in the rain. SIG. non SIG for porch. sturdy. easy to pitch (I can do it with the DDs help. very weatherproof.

downside - so huge to dry out if packed up in the wet. Inner pitch first (although never had to pitch in rain yet) millions of zips and flaps over windows, not a problem but a bit pointless

We have a Royal Montpellier 12 and I think it's great. It has four bedrooms and a large area in the middle which you can easily stand up in. Large living area comes in very useful when you have children and it's raining. Has sig, so not too many creatures and only down side is that it takes two of us to put it up and take it down. We love it
