I have read the other thread about hanging it over the sofa - ha! - my tent is bloody massive and my rooms, though plentiful, are all small

so I am drying it in the basement, where the dehumifyer and the little heater are, but I will have to do it in stages because there is no way I can spread it out

and we only got it home last night but it already smells

so please come and tell me it is not ruined and it is not going to be permanently smelly and I can dry it by moving it around every hour and it will be fine

I'm sure it will be fine, can you not put it outside for a few hours too?

We usually dry ours laid out on the lawn

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 11:38

oh so would I

but it is wet

well it isn't raining at this moment but it is dark and drizzly and miserable

it was the plan; dh had just piled it up in the corner ready for a sunny day

can you wipe off the worst with an old towel?

sorry it's not good weather, it's quite pleasant here in MK today

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 11:44

good idea Iota

it is hard though

it is so big it is like wrestling with an enormous canvas flesh-eating monster

what tent do you have cappuccino? haven;lt had ours up yet and won't fit in any room or the garden to try it out either so drying it will be nightmare!

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 11:50

it is this one

no we couldn't get it up in the garden either

have just found your tent on your other thread - yes it's a smidge bigger than out 8 berth tunnel tent, so I see where you're coming from

It's a 2 person job towelling it dry. Slapped wrists to dh for leaving it in a corner

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 11:58

well it is a 2 person job that I can't do

because dd2 is here and she is cross

she can't get into the cellar so she screams and stamps if I try

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 12:08

OP posts:
BlueDragonfly · 02/06/2008 12:09

oh well, it keeps it bumped

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 13:51

hoorah! it is sunny

me and my mother - poor soul, who happened to be passing - have slogged it up from teh basement and hung it over the washing line

crisis averted

is it dry yet?

it's now pouring down round here

PeachyWontLieToYou · 02/06/2008 17:08

ours survived fine from monday to saturday capp

its not that big.....

well just big enough anyway!

Cappuccino · 02/06/2008 19:38

peachy its great - I thimk you recommended it - thanks

there's plenty of room with dd1's frame in it, there's no 'lip' for her to climb over to get in

and it was dead easy to get up

i'm so glad you liked it- ours has survived so much in the way of weather etc, its ridiculous when you think many comparable tents are double!
