Kitchen set ups

Our overall tent set up is good. But we need a better kitchen arrangement. I’m thinking about storage space, somewhere to work from etc. does anyone have good kitchen sets up and recommendations? If you have photos, I’d love to see them,

No photos sorry but I’m interested to see what others have Smile

We have a kitchen stand with a small table beside it so there is somewhere to put things down. Food and utensils live in big plastic boxes.

No photos as all sold/ given away...
But we had a special table/ stand for the camping gas stove. Underneath was enough space for the essentials like saucepan, pan,... we had 2 camping tables. One was used as table the other hand the small fridge and plates & cutlery and other kitchen stuff on it. Food was kept in 2 plastic storage boxes with lids. In the early days, we used the food storage boxes as table.
Oh, I think the stove stand came from somewhere cheap like Lidl or Aldi! It was good quality and definitely survived many years of camping and is still going as far as I know.

We have a motor home but try our best to cook outside.
We use a Coleman two burner Petrol stove, simple lightweight you can buy fuel anywhere, it works no matter how cold wet and windy it is and boils water much quicker than gas.
We set it up off the ground on a folding table
Look out of the plastic boxes with the interlocking lids shops use often for sale on market place we keep cooking stuff and food in them as they are very durable come in different sizes some are stackable too.
You can also sit on them when placed upside down
This sort of thing

We bought our boxes from some one on Facebook market place around £4-6 each depending on sizes

Forgottenmyphone · 07/06/2025 07:24

We’ve bought a special camping kitchen stand which has a built in wind guard and a hook above for hanging a light, which is so useful for the camping stove. It has storage underneath for pots, pans, crockery and utensils. We then have a large fold out table, on which we have a washing up bowl and a food prep area. Under the table, we store the electric cool box. Recently we’ve bought Coghlan's pop up dustbin which has been so much better than just a bin bag.

I like the boxes although not sure how we’d fit them in the car.

I think we need another table and then possibly drawers (boxes) stacked underneath. We have so much stuff that our problem is managing to fit stuff into the car.

@kirinm look at the space you have and then decide what you need and what you can do without. We literally had 1x frying pan, 2 saucepans, 1 chopping bord & sharp knife and one picnic set each.

Look at things like collapsible washing up bowl, food & cheap accessories you can buy at destination.

Aldi sometimes have the collapsable bowls and buckets, The boxes you can get smaller ones , the reason we went for these is they are much more durable than the normal run of the mill boxes. Try to plan meals and see what utensils and pans you need as we all cart stuff around be never use. Have you considered a roof box?

We have a roof box and a roof bag. We have a lot of camping stuff. It’s really more about making the kitchen work better than it does - it is all a bit hapdash but getting some ideas from this thread.
