Hi, I'm going with some friends snd the kids this year but have never been to a festival before or camped more than one night with the kids.
I will need to cook for my son with allergies on a small stove as he won't eat out.
Is it muddy/clean, is the campsite near a supermarket? What to take to make things comfortable?
Any tips and hacks or really any advice please from those who've been before ? :-) x

I haven’t been to this specific festival but I know the area.

There are no shops within walking distance of the site. Wells-Next-The-Sea has small convenience stores, the nearest big supermarket is Fakenham, Tesco and Morrisons.

As for camping, you will know from your one night what you need for comfort etc. Team up with your friends and work out what to bring between you to avoid doubling up on anything you could share.

You will have to transport your stuff on foot from car to campsite, 400m or more, so pack light or take a trolley.

Take enough gas: the canisters for those suitcase stoves run out fast. Don’t take stuff that takes 20 mins to boil.

Norfolk is one of the least rainy parts of the country but pack wellies and macs just in case.

Take wipes! Loads of wipes including anti/bac for hands.

Hi,

We went last year and had a blast,

Definetly get a trolley, for setting up camp and round the festival. There's a few activitys on the lake and wild swimming so we used the trolley for transporting wet kit/changes of clothes/dry robes/camping chairs, food ect.
Trolley meant alot less going back and forth to the tent everytime we got wet.

It can get busy and you will need to queue for certain activitys, so best to do your must do activitys on the first day. There's no day tickets sold for the first day, its campers only so it's much, much quieter than the rest of the weekend.

Site was well lit, security keeping an eye and felt very safe. Not at all muddy when we were there, but we got lucky with the weather and it was sunshine for the entire time apart from 20 minutes of drizzle.

I would pack waterproof everything and wellies just in case, as the paths to and from the campsite are dirt paths so probably very muddy if it's wet.

Can't comment on the showers as we brought a camp shower but our friends used them and said they were decent.
Loos are all portaloos but clean and lots of them.

There's no food shop/camping essentials shop on site, so if you need more gas, pasta ect you need to go off site.

Most of the activitys you need trainers for, not allowed to do them in sandals.

It is very tiring! We were doing activitys from about 8am - 6pm and then dancing to the bands until 11pm, so it's long days!

Hope that helps :)

a sleeping mask if your tent doesn’t have blackout, and earplugs!
Lots of people really go to town with their festival outfits and accessories. We did face glitter and glow sticks, plus my dd wore some LED lights in her hair!
Take dry shampoo
Don’t underestimate the amount of snacks you’ll need.
Take sun cream and a hat – most activities have no shade.
