Dressing toddler for bed when camping

Hey! Camping newbie, going away tomorrow for 2 nights. The weather isn’t forecast to be great but we aren’t too far away from home so going to try and make the most of it.
Feeling a little unsure on how to dress my nearly 2yo at bedtime. It’s looking to be 11-12 degrees over night with rain.
Any parents out there that have camped with a toddler got any advice on this please?
I have a long sleeve 3.5 tog sleeping bag, thermal pyjamas and merino socks for him. is this enough or do I need more layers?

We did the same as what you have, but took a hoodie and joggers with us and popped them on if they got cold.

That’s good know, thank you! Did you end up having to use the extra layers?

We did one night, and not the next as the temperature fluxuated (this was a good few years ago now!)

Might need a hat.

We put DD in her pjs and one of those thick onesies (one with a hood) under a duvet. It will still get cold at night, lovely to all snuggle up together in a tent!

Aw I know I’m really excited even if the weather isn’t looking great. Just excited to spend some time together. He doesn’t do duvets, he hates any type of blanket so got to use a sleep bag. But I’m just hoping thermals and decent socks will be ok. I’ll obviously take extra spares but a nighttime wake up and change might be a pain 🙈🤣 we shall see!

Take a fleece blanket or two to put over her if it feels cold

3.5tog sleeping bag doesn't sound warm, think my one was 15tog?

The tog ratings for baby sleep bags are different to your normal duvet, so 3.5 tog is classed as very warm for use under 16 degrees. I agree it’s confusing though, as my winter duvet is 15 tog.
