Hi dd's need a tent for may bank holiday w/e I quite fancy the idea of camping myself so don't know whether i want something just big enough for them or something slighty bigger that we could all use me, two teenage daughters and 5 and 4yr old.

It neds to be idot proof because not done camping in a very long time. What would I need as the basics either for them for a w/e or for all of us to see if we like it.

Bit scared of the whole thing tbh but don't know how else we're going to get a holiday this year and the thought of it sounds good but not sure about the reality.

Any suggestions gladly recieved.

perhaps one of the sunncamp evolution range? they're easya s anything to pop up, very few poles. Either that or a Gelert twister pop up I would say- you'll have your hands full enough with keeping the kids supervised that you won't want to worry about pitching problems as well.

When you say cheap - what kind of budget do you mean?

How many bedrooms would you like?
Do you need a sewn in groundsheet or don't you mind one that just sits over al the grass? cos non sigs are much cheaper!

Somehting like this tunnel tent at £200 would suit you all - sleeps 8, 2 large bedrooms or 4 smaller ones, then you and the younger ones coud share and the teenagers could be at the other end of the tent?

Good make, reliable etc too and tall enough to stand up in.

For the teenagers I'd go with peachy's suggestion and opt for a Gelert twister.

they do bigger twisters too- so perhaps one for the teenagers and one for the toddlers and yourself notsofarnow? Just thinking practically- we struggle with our kids to pitch and supervise, and that's with 2 adults.

btw- have a look at the haynes camping manual (amazon)- brilliant for beginners, and even dh wants a copy
