.... anything besides the obvious that would be useful to buy/bring?

Only staying 3 days, 2 nights so not wishing to bring the kitchen sink along.

Already got-
6 man tent
2 double blow up mattresses
Air pump for above
Camping chairs
4 sleeping bags
Large capacity water jug thing

It's by the beach so will need beach equipment too so I'm thinking some way of drying wet clothes would be useful, if that exists.

Also we're only allowed to cook on bbqs, no fires allowed, so don't need any of that stuff.

Thanks for any suggestions, total novice here!

Power banks! Always bring more than you need.

Bin bags.

You can take a cheap washing line and string it between trees for your beachwear.

fill a water container and freeze it before you go, helps massively when you’re desperate for a cold drink.

You could take a camping stove. Much more useful than a BBQ. You’d need a table.

You can get camping whirligigs for drying wet clothing and towels.

Beach trolley for lugging stuff, and potentially tired kids to and from the beach.

Ooh that's a good thought, adding to the list now

Torches or lamps and things to do if it rains eg. Games or a box of Lego.

Thanks for these, especially bin bags! I never would have thought of that but my kids seem capable of making rubbish out of thin air some days 😅 plus for all the sandy damp stuff I'm sure we'll be lugging back home with us

I'll have to recheck the rules around camping stoves, but agree they do seem a lot more versatile for what you can cook on one.

And definitely yes to the beach trolley been wanting one for a while now, thanks

A windbreaker is useful. Can hang towels over them too.
Lots of snacks
I take a couple of S hooks to hang stuff on
I will be taking a carabiner clip to lock the tent at night, mine smallest would try and escape in the morning!
