Tent for single parent

I have vango stargrove air 450 which I like, it’s easy to put up by myself and has lots of space. However the bag is large and heavy and its too long to fit in my garden to dry when we get home, so I’m looking for a slightly smaller tent that I can throw in the car for last minute weekends away, and dry without having to use someone else’s garden.

It’s me and my 3yo so he’s not much use at the moment. As I’ve found the air tent easy, I’ve been looking at the genus air 400 and a Berghaus air one, if anyone has experience of these, but would also be interested to hear about any poled tents that people find easy to put up alone as these are cheaper and lighter.

I do want one that has a living area that you can stand up in and store chairs etc in, I feel too claustrophobic if you can’t fully stand up. Does anybody have any recommendations please?!

Ah I clicked on this to say the vango Stargrove air as I can put ours up single handed, but you’re right they are an arse to pack and carry.

Hopefully someone else will be more useful!

Haha thanks. It is nice and quick to put up/down, just want something a little shorter I can dry in my own garden afterwards. Last 2 trips have ended with a very soggy tent so it needed properly putting back up to dry it.

It’s not what you asked for but I went away for 2n just with my daughter in a vangp Tay 400-4 man which was perfect for two and super easy to put up and down with a small bag 3 poles. But it’s not one with a big stand up porch for chairs. We just took beach chairs that sat on the ground and it was perfect because the weather was good. We have got a big poled tent but I didn’t fancy manhandling it just for 2n. For£100 it’s a great little tent.

Thanks, I think I’d feel too enclosed in that though.

It was surprisingly spacious but my DD is older it’s different if your child needs “running around” space. I’ve done years of big tents to small tents and it felt like the sweet spot for two for a weekend. I’ve not had an air beam team but seen them being put up down and really aren’t convinced by them tbh. The bags are huge and the weight. Have a look at the decathlon tents if you want a cheaper weekend one that’s bigger they had some clever designs. I do tend to stick to outwell or vango due to quality of the little features. Hope you have fun.
