Anyone considering selling caravan due to rising costs?

Pitch fees all seem to have increased this year. Storage has too.
Van is getting older now & don't want to have to spend too much on her fixing.
Not sure whether to sell up next year but worried will regret selling as it's a lovely van!

I sometimes think pitch fees are high and then I look at hotels, Air B&B and other alternatives and realise pitch fees are cheaper.
As my caravan gets older I'll be less worried about having it serviced and less worried about damp reports. I will get the brakes and gas system checked and serviced but I will not bother paying for "cosmetic" things.

Are you a member of the caravan and motor home club? The CL sites on they are still good value.

There is no denying CAMC site fees have gone up but they are excellent, well regulated sites with super clean facilities and generous pitches. We love them and think they provide great value for money.

Spent a couple of days at a general holiday park recently (think chalets, statics, tourers etc) and it was frankly pretty horrible and not something we will be repeating.
More expensive than CAMC, poorer facilities (that were nothing like as clean), soggy pitches (tarmac as wide as the wheels but you step off into mud), 6A supply only, and oh so noisy. Was about the same price as CAMC but nothing like as good value.

How much are you paying for storage?
We have used two (different) CASSOA "Gold" locations (one where we now live and the other where we used to live) and both are £35/month.
Only there until we have completed some work on the house (and have cleared the driveway) and it is coming home.

Think about this carefully.
Consider the coast of the alternatives, its a different sort of holiday.

We use the CAMC sites and although expensive you know what you are getting and I still think they are good value because the facilities are so good. Also with your caravan everything is yours, no nasty surprises.

Our caravan is on the drive so no storage fees but sometimes I do think about using storage as it can be in the way, we also rely very heavily on the mover because of the parked cars on our street which doesn't have much traffic but you need to manoeuvre in tight spaces. There are swings and roundabouts to keeping it at home

We use the CAMC sites mainly too as they are really good and the overall cost of a holiday is so much less than any other holidays we have taken over the years. Our caravan is tiny and fits in our single garage, it takes up the whole garage which is a compromise, but so much easier than using a storage site. Look at what holidays you might take instead. We worked out we were spending about £8000 a year on holidays for 3 or 4 weeks away. Now we spend about £3000 including servicing the caravan, insurance, site fees petrol and food while away. Obviously we had to buy the caravan, which cost £16000, but after 3 years that difference in price will have almost covered the purchase cost.

@Netcam
Have to admit we have never worked out actual costs, "holidays" have NEVER featured much in our lives as we prefer short breaks and go away little & often.

As previously stated, CAMC costs have risen but we have yet to go to one we don't think represents excellent value for money.
Fuel. Well, you incur that to travel anywhere so we just accept it.
Food. Would be eating anyway whether we were at home or away.
Cost of the Moho. Well, no denying that is a (very) significant chunk of money to buy plus there is VED, insurance, servicing, habitation check, accessories, general maintenance & upgrades plus (on older models) MOT, tyres, repairs etc.
On the upside however. It is your own personal space used by you and no-one else (important for us), you own it, no restrictions on taking the Ddogs and should the situation arise, you can pop off at a moments notice (for instance, weather looks better next week so we have just booked a site and are off for a few days😉).
