Thank you in advance.
We currently have a massive poled tunnel tent. I go camping with the kids alot and cannot put it up by myself. I've had a couple of hard trips this year on my own. But my partner does come for 2-3 short trips a year. Initially I wanted a 3 air pole tent but non of these have any awning space - just living room. So now I'm looking at 5 air pole tents. I need to be able to put up easily by myself and take down in wind (which is where volume and size may play). Can we fit a 4 person tunnel tent with around 310cm width? Or do I Def need a 6 person?
Kids are little so could go in bunkbeds to help.
Any suggestions on brand etc helpful too.

We've got a 5 berth air tent. It has a sun canopy and you can buy a side awning to get that extra space. Room for 2+2 if you use mats but not for airbeds.

5 berth is a bit more comfortable for 2adult/2dc assuming there's a separate space for all the gear. Vango are a good brand.

Future proof for when the kids are older/bigger.

Definitely 6. you need the space for clothes etc too.

I've just bought a 6 berth for me and 2 DDs. I am future proofing for having 2 teens in there with me. A 5 berth would have been adequate but we felt the 4 was too small. Ended up with a 6 due to a good end of summer deal.
Don't forget you will need space for all your belongings and assuming you want a tent for a few years, think about how well you will fit in say 4 or 5 years time

Another way of looking at it, can you put up the 6 by yourself?

id go with a smaller one now, you can get a bigger one when the children get bigger, IF you need to, & they'll be able to help put it up.

We have this one: www.blacks.co.uk/15987049/hi-gear-horizon-700-nightfall-air-tent-15987049

Perfect for me, DP and DS4, we had the smaller size before and we were really on top of each other. This one is perfect as the living space is much bigger.

What part of putting up are you struggling with? There are videos on how to put up a tunnel tent single handedly and you can get DC to help hold a corner at critical points, especially as they get older Bunk beds may just be more clutter and weight to pack and handle. Air tents are I believe all in one so check you can handle the weight of the package and get it into the car as well as the inflation/deflation.

Current one is Vango casa lux - the sheer size of it and volume of material totally get away from me and Im simply not strong enough to put the poles up easily by myself. Children currently too young to help. It's also not lasted well (which was a surprise).

We have a berhaus air 6xl... the xl bit is extra living space. DDs sometimes share a bedroom (there's 3) or sometimes take one each... if they share we use the spare as the wardrobe room (we often go for a week or so! )

The extra living space is fantastic in bad weather... we can fit the fold up table in there for example. It also has a porch that can be used for cooking.
