Eurocamp advice

slummymummy82 · 07/07/2023 16:35

I'm looking into a Euro Camp holiday for next year, close to Paris if possible as would like to tie a trip in there. We have 2 children, 5 and 6, water parks are a priority. Any advice and recommendations would be appreciated as I literally know nothing about them apart from seeing an Instagram post which sucked me in.

We really like La Croix du Vieux Pont 🙂

We did eurocamp holidays as a child and I absolutely LOVED them, we did quite a lot of different sites in france and Spain and they were all amazing, I’m currently pregnant and can’t wait to take my baby on a eurocamp holiday 🥰🤩

We really like La Croix du Vieux Pont 🙂

We went here last year. Was fab. 3 pools, one like a beach, a splash park, lake, great activities, they do a coach into Paris or Disney. Straight forward drive from calais

Thank you! I will check it out. We're now not dead set on France, so any tips on the best ones would be welcomed. Does anyone know when the 2024 bookings open?

Not sure what you mean by water park, but La Croix de Vieux Pont, whilst it is Eurocamp's closest site to Paris, doesn't have a water park as such. It has a couple of 'ordinary' pools and a wonderful lagoon pool surrounded by sands. I love it there (but it's still over an hour from Paris).
The sites in northern Italy and the Vendee have good swimming facilities, with more slides etc.
Park de Fierbois, whilst a nice camp, don't get excited by the inflatable aqua thingy in the lake - the lake is rather stagnant and you wouldn't let your dog swim in it let alone your children. Pool is nice too, though not as big as you might think from the photos.

If you're not dead set on France, then Duinrell in the Netherlands definitely ticks the waterpark box! We went there earlier this year and it was fantastic - it even has its own theme park on site as well (which is totally free for guests). Although Eurocamp operate there, we booked direct with Duinrell as you get the waterpark included for free that way. They have bookings open for 2024 now.

Oh we have been looking at this site for next year. Glad to hear a good review. How did you get there? We are thinking ferry from Newcastle as we are nw based

agoodfriendofthethree · 08/07/2023 09:32

@trevthecat We took the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, and then it was a very quick and easy drive after that. I'd definitely recommend the site! So much to do, and plenty of great places to visit from there as well. We did day trips to Efteling, Amsterdam, the Hague etc, plus there's a lovely beach really close by.

There's an informative Facebook group for Eurocamp.

Thanks so much everyone, somewhere to get started. There are so many options it was very overwhelming!

First time we took ours camping, own tent etc, DD was 6 and son 4. Remember sending them off to the standpipe to fill the kettle on their own. Huge adventure for them...

At that stage we took them to the loo etc but by next time, on a small site we'd known pre-kids, DD was allowed to go on her own.

We have used our own tent and then booked privately at sites used by Eurocamp or similar. On several occasions meeting friends who were using Eurocamp etc whilst there. Instant English friends for my kids. Obvs, facilities like pools and Chateaux Gonflables are available to all site residents.

Only place we've stayed near Paris that might fit your spec is a Huttopia site at Rambouillet. Bloomin pricy by my standards but probably not for where it was. SNCF services into Paris are fast and frequent.

We did 4 nights in Brittany in Eurocamp & booked through Sun deal cheap holidays. It was £400 so maybe saved 50%. We stayed at La Baie Trinite sur mer. The chalet was minuscule & so dated. Allegedly for 6 but so tiny for 5. Everyone crammed into the site. Not a water park but small pool & slide which kids loved. Find out which camps Eurocamp use and book direct with campsite. The Eurocamp rep turned up once but it’s all self explanatory so I wouldn’t bother using the company.

Hey,

Just jumping on as I am also looking for a trip and also pregnant baby will be here in April, so looking for a trip this year once baby arrives... I have been looking for the last week or so and depending on what you want here are some of the ones I looked at and if you look at my thread you will see some on the suggestions others have given me. I am completely sold on.. https://www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/italy/adriatic/marina-di-venezia-campsite?ranMID=45726&ranEAID=TnL5HPStwNw&ranSiteID=TnL5HPStwNw-guFFdbXWdbU5NIId9EsUXw

it is stunning and was recommended to me from someone in this forum- its close to venice, no car is needed if you didnt want to drive, there is good transport but bus or by boat into venice and venice airport . It has direct beach access its rated 5* & has some really good reviews and is on a lot of blogs and forums as being a top fav with parents.

I also looked at https://www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/spain/costa-dorada/vilanova-park-campsite?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=17989253010&cq_con=142809891551&cq_term=vilanova%20park&cq_med=&cq_plac=&cq_net=g&cq_pos=&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhomtBhDgARIsABcaYynSSm7-caM9DW10HAxouE547fotifFwKz4vfAV9SSia2475XH__l-waAoH_EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

This one is close to Barcelona so again will be a lovely trip...

PS I dont know how old your baby will be or when your looking to go but check out https://club950.co.uk/ most of the Eurocamps are on here and for example the first 5* park I just listed is £900-1000 direct but on the sun deal I can get it for £200 for 7 nights :).. I have used the sun950 holidays for years but always in campsites in the UK never abroad but always wanted too and now I can finally do it my baby once born.

I have heard such mixed reviews from parents using Eurocamp so dont want to spend £1000 and then hate it!

Congratulations on the pregnancy!
