HELP ADVICE/NEEDED re: camping in france this summer

dh has finally talked me round to camping in france this summer. we are not fussy when we leave really as long as it is during the summer hols. there will be me,dh and 2 dd's age 6&4.

we fancy getting the ferry over then going for a few days at normandy then going to paris for a few days (so we can do disney if possible)

we have never done this as a family before and i have no idea about where the best parks are or what kind of prices we are looking at.

can anyone recomend good parks at the area's i have mentioned and any other areas where we could maybe try.

is there a actual camp near disney or would we have to travel a fair bit to get there?

TIA

Why not sail from Dover Calais and do Paris then drive to normandy and sail home from Caen or Cherbourge.

This way you will not be driving as far - you could do this in reverse of course.

Disney is really easy to get to on the train in Paris just pick a campsite on the east side for easy travelling as it will be nearer.

On the cherbourge peninsular I liked the campsite Grande Large near to Cherbourge - you walk straight on to the beach from the site and it has a swimming pool and easy for ferry back to uk. The only thing was a little out of town.

Martragne near to Bayeux was really nice and the beaches were good near by.

If you check out uk camping they have quite a few threads on 'how to camp near Paris and 'do' Disney'.

martianbishop has done this but I don't know whether she really liked the site they stayed at - might be worth putting a shout out for her.

ferry wise you'll have more options (and they are much cheaper) if you stick to the Eastern ports.

are you then looking for some sun or somethings to 'see'?

Camping close-ish to Disney is easy, I did with DH before we were engaged, the car park there is free and there is a train station which takes you into Paris making it a fairly easy day out.
Having said that I would recommend Parc Asterix over Disney as the queues are shorter and its cheaper and the rides are just as good
