What to take with a 6 month old?

So we are going camping in may, we have a 5 month old, will be 6 month when we go I've never been camping before, we are going with my parents who absolutely love it!

So basically what do I need to take🙈 I don't know where to start, does my baby need a proper camping sleeping bag?

I’d use a 3.5 tog baby sleeping bag with removable sleeves, a cotton bodysuit and a slightly larger fleece sleepsuit over the top, and a hat.
Take the high chair or a bumbo seat and a baby carrier/sling. A sling is useful for trips to the wash block/washing up area etc…
You’ll want something in which you can bath your baby. Either a regular baby bath, inflatable dinghy, small paddling pool or a large trug. Don’t forget a sponge and jug for washing.
Maybe use a tent carpet to give an extra layer of insulation and make it more comfortable to sit and crawl around on.
If you have a playpen, definitely take it.
Head torches are invaluable for nappy changes.
My biggest advice would be to pitch your tent in your back garden and do a trial night outdoors. If you forget something while you’re in your back garden, you can pop back into the house and get it and it will also help you to figure out any items you don’t have but will need to get.
Do you bottle feed or breastfeed? And are you planning BLW or purées?

Thankyou so much, that's helped me so much I was worrying about him getting cold at night, I'll be definitely taking your advice about everything else too. He's my first baby so I really didn't know where to start.

We are giving him purées, and he's bottle feed and he has soft finger snacks ones that melt in his mouth. Obviously he's not full on eating yet, just trying a few new little things.

Really depends how long you're going for. With ffeeding you'll need to be able to steralise bottles. So perhaps ready Milton tablets and pre made bottles?

Pack for cold weather, whilst in the summer it gets decent temps during the day, Early morning and late evenings tend to take a plunge. If they're mobile by that point get a puddle suit to crawl around in to prevent them getting wet from the morning dew grass.

You'll need something for them to sleep in. I believe the blow up matress is out (I don't think they're considered safe due to groves). Do they fit in a baby box? (Unsure if you're Scottish or not).

Extra clothes all the way and good luck with your adventures!

Well because we are going with my mum and stepdad they've been doing it for years they have all the set up, a really big tent that we're sharing and our "room" is big enough apparently for a double bed and a travel cot so at least I know he will be okay In that. One thing I've ticked off🙈

And I was thinking of them Milton tablets, do they actually work?

I've never been away with the little one so I'm feeling abit wary of it but excited at the same time. We are only going for 5 nights, I'm going to take some of the foam square tumbler mats aswell so he will have a comfy to place to roll round and play without hurting himself.

We are going to Mablethorpe aswell, and I'm sure it's near a beach so it will possibly be quite cold at night, I will take extra layers for him.

We had a big Tupperware box/bucket thing for sterilising with Milton when DD was that age.
