Looking for campsite recommendations please.

Two adults, two dogs, small, basic, secluded, preferably walking distance to a beach. No requirement for nearby amenities.

Thank you.

We have struggled to find anything with similar criteria to you. Not walking distance to a beach, but we have enjoyed camping at Nydie near St Andrews. Lots of campsites on the east coast seem a bit commercial. How far north are you willing to go?

tayview.co.uk maybe not as secluded as you would want but a nice site in Monifieth.

Coast and castles near Alnwick , it's about a 15 minute walk to beaches and lots of beautiful countryside to explore as well as pretty little villages

Thank you, will look them all up.

Driving from NW England, don't mind a journey as tend make a big trip like this once a season for 6/7 days.

Scoughall cottages in E Lothian. We took our dog there in June. Beach pretty much to ourselves every day. Cottages are a bit dated but they have everything you need for self catering. Except possibly a dishwasher. I think you need to book a full week from Friday to Friday but they are really well priced.

@ElephantInPrint no, there isn’t. Sorry, I didn’t notice last night that this was posted in the camping section. It’s two 2 bedroom cottages on a farm with direct access to a huge private beach.

Silverburn campsite in Leven, camping and also 3 wee camping pods. Only a few minutes walk from the beach and 20/30 min drive to St.Andrews. It's really lovely!

South Meadows at Belford is a lovely campsite, not within walking distance of a beach tho. It’s about 20mins drive from Alnwick and about 15 mins drive to Bamburgh. Belford itself is nice got a couple of pubs, farm shop & cafe and a lovely fish & chip shop.

They sound lovely, will look those up for out of season. Thanks.

Eric's Field (Budle Farm Campsite), Budle Bay. £10/night.

Very minimal facilities though, so if you're tent camping you'll want a toilet tent and a portapotti (there is a chemical toilet waste disposal point, and a freshwater tap and that's the full extent of the facilities). Stunning sunsets, direct access to the estuary and a very short walk along it to the beach. Views across to Lindisfrane, and if you're lucky you can watch the dolphins whilst you drink your morning coffee.

It's very popular with motorhomes and campers as a destination, and as a stopping off point going up and down the A1. There were several tents last time I stayed there.
