Lightweight towels (?hammam)

So new to the whole packing lightly thing. I always see adverts for fairly expensive thin towels in my Facebook feed that say they are just as absorbent as big fluffy ones. I don’t mind paying if they are, has anyone got any recommendations for ones that are worth it?

@ARealHoliday Ours are a few years old and they are all the original beach towels. I didn’t know that microfibre towels were bad for the environment Sad

If anyone has any other suggestions of hamman type towels with no tassels, or removed without damaging the towel I will be grateful, if not I’ll get the dock and bay ones....as I just have a weird thing against tassels on towels!

I use a dry or tightly wring flannel to get most of the water off and then a quick rub down with a hamam type towel or microfibre.

You really can get almost dry with a flannel, makes a towel last much longer between washes.

We have hammams and one lovely random cotton thin towel which came from a discount shop in The Netherlands. I get hammams mainly from TKMaxx. We also have a couple of microfibre towels, a free promotional one and a Trespass one, neither is great.
I'd love some tassel-less cotton towels.

Bumping incase someone magically finds me a tassel free hamman towel!

I know puts an old thread, but I've just got bargain camping towels from Aldi for £4. They're a good size and don't feel cheap.

So incase anyone was interested, I ordered one dock and bay and one Hammam. I regret the dock and bay one, after one wash the edges are all bobbled and it looks shit and I feel guilty about the plastic, whereas the Hammam one is lovely and soft! Will be buying more of them in the future.
