Hi,

I posted recently about some advice for driving through France for the first time as a family and go some excellent advice. But now I'm overwhelmed by the choice of where to stay and I'm hoping for some great recommendations please!

Absolute musts are:

Caravan/'cottage' accommodation
Direct access to the beach
Great pool complex/water slides suitable for 6 &8 year olds

Thank you so much in advance x

Carisma holidays have all sites with direct beach access.

As a family of four, we used to go to a beautiful pine forest campsite called Euronat. However that was a long time ago.

The journey from UK via the Royan ferry is pleasant. The French west coast motorway is much quieter than the Med motorway.

They have sites for your tent/trailer tent/caravan, plus chalets, and bungalows etc.

It is a naturist site. Check out the website to see if it is to your taste.

Wonderful flat sandy beaches within walking distance of the sites. Shops etc on site.

The Atlantic is so so clean there.

I’ve been to both and would recommend. The caravans at the former are quite close together though - I’d really recommend the large safari tents with bathroom/full kitchen with running water instead - they’re really big!

Stunning area!
