Great campsite!
I am somewhere in Sussex with the silhouette of the S Downs on the horizon. A 'wild' style site, where other campers are a way away, perhaps separated by clumps of shrubs and hedges.
The fire is going, and a brisket of beef is cooking slowly in the Dutch Pot on the fire. We will eat it shredded in wraps with a crisp salad. The Icey Tek has kept the beer Icy cold, we have posh crisps, and red wine for later. Later the Perseids will light up the sky, as we sit warming our toes by the fire and maybe toasting a marshmallow or two. There is silence, no music, etc.
Wake at about 3 am and listen to the soft rain falling on our real canvas tent, go back to sleep and wake at 7.30, where the sun is already burning off the rain.
In the morning, we will brew fresh coffee, have scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast, or maybe good sausages and egg, and go for a fantastic walk on the downs, maybe by the seven sisters, and then a lie in the sun and a dip at Birling Gap.
Repeat for a few days, with a pub lunch, a NT visit, another long walk, some great campfire cooking: jerk chicken cooked on the grill over the fire, lamb chops, BBQ's courgettes, kebabs, garlicky sweetcorn.
No wet pack up! and the chilled friendly campsite will allow departure by 12., or 12.30.
