Can anyone recommend any campsites in the Lake Garda area of Italy for next year? Anyone stayed at any with Canvas, Keycamp or Europcamp? Any info would be much appreciated?

We stayed at Fontenelle with eurocamp. I didn't like the layout of all the mobile homes (bit cramped together)or the position of our mobile home - keycamp were much better positioned or the tents. Pool was pretty basic, restaurant okay, shop good - nice site owners. The whole site is on a slope with the lake, shop and restaurant at the bottom so a bit of a climb up to the mobile homes at the top and scooters and bikes are not allowed.
I wouldn't stay there again but it was a good position for getting a train to Verona but seemed to take a long time to drive anywhere - but that's probably the case anywhere on the lake.

Not stayed in a camp site but I have to say that we went to Lake Garda last summer. We stayed right at the top in Riva. It was beautiful. Very friendly and they adored children. A lovely place.

We've camped in 2 sites there, with DS (4). Both small family run sites at the southern end of the lake. One was on the beach(stony) and also had 3 swimming pools and was fantastic. Only stayed in each for one night as this is our 'local' lake and we tend to go just for the weekend. I'll try and dig out some more info when I get home (I'm at work now). Very easy to get to by car as the motorway is only about 10 minutes away.

This site appears to have lots about Lake Garda's camping sites. You can choose the different locations round the lake down the right hand side, and a list of sites comes up.

If you then click on Camping - blue box on left. You can then search for all camp sites int he region, and choose any facilities you want it to have - pool, showers, beach, etc.

Some of the camp sites have their own website too.

Now I have thought about the hpliday I do remember seeing several large campsites around the places we visited. Many right on the lake edge. Up at the top near Riva (huge international comps held there) it is big on wind surfing, etc. so loads of facilities.

Thanks to everyone who got back to me. Much appreciated. Looking into options for next year's summer holiday with a 7 year old, 5 year old and 7 month old that will keep everyone happy. Wishful thinking maybe?!

we stayed in Fornella with Eurocamp last year. It was fab, really. Lovely pool (shallow end shelves away so great with kids), nice restaurant, right on the lake. We went in June and it was very peaceful. Would really recommend it.
