Thought camping was meant to be fun

We (2 teenage dd's, me and the dog) are camping in Devon, thought it would be great fun, we have a campervan and large tent, all the gear cost me a fortune and I was super excited about using it. We bought ddog camping for the first time.
Dd's refused to help me set up when we are bed due to how warm it was, took me hours to set up by myself. Today I woke up and something has managed to get in my onesie and bite me in a awful place. The dog keeps wrapping his lead around things (the table, camping chairs etc.. ) so I have to keep untangling him. It rained most of yesterday and last night. I didn't pack enough clothes for myself and now I'm wearing the kids clothes. Because it's raining and we have the dog we are limited to where we go. I'm now wondering how we are going to get everything back into the van to come home tonight, we are leaving early as heavy rain is forecast for tonight and tomorrow and I don't fancy packing away a wet tent.

We are camping again In 2 weeks, any tips on making it easier including how to control the dog and stop him getting tangled up every 5 minites?

I had the great idea of taking my DDs camping when they were all in the early teens. DH sensibly stayed at work.

5 days away, we came home all in a foul mood and the entire lot of camping shit went onto Ebay.

We take our dog camping. My disclaimer is that we only ever go for one or two nights. We have a van and tend to just go somewhere on the weekends within a 2 hours drive. We wouldn't go camping usually if the forecast was bad.
Dog has never really been an issue, we tire her out with lots of walks and beach trips etc during the day and she's usually so tired my teatime she just settles in her basket next to the van and sleeps. An over excited, under exercised dog would be a nightmare on a campsite so I'd only take her if I knew we would be doing lots of activity with her during the day. We also look for sites where is there a place for off lead exercise nearby as well.
We've just had the worst camping experience of our lives in gale force winds and torrential rain in Devon - never again. We had no choice but to stick it out as 300 miles from home. Next time if we happen to be camping when bad weather is forecast I'm packing up and going home or driving to a hotel!
