Lights!

I've been told my big maglite won't cut it! Have an enormous (unused as yet) tent so I've been told to get a lantern for the ceiling.

Any good brands, seen lots of cheap usb LED ones on amazon but do they actually give off enough light and lose their brightness as they lose charge? Not interested in parafin lights btw.

Depend what you want light for.
To find your stuff while you get changed then any defused lighting, even fairy lights is fine. If you want to read a book then best get an led book light.

Was thinking a ceiling light to cast light everywhere inside? Or perhaps I should get smaller ones dotted around the sides.

I really rate bendy strip lights over lanterns for camping - one brand is Lumilight but there are loads all basically the same and you can get them from amazon from £8. Just need to get a USB power pack like a phone charger block to power them. They chuck out loads of light and as a strip you can light where you'd like rather than one chunk of space

These are the ones we get

We’ve got a few hanging lights from Decathlon, cheap, cheerful and multi use as you can use them at the table and when getting about in the dark

Here’s a link to the large ones: www.decathlon.co.uk/bl-100-camping-lantern-blue-id_8331135.html

Black diamond Apollo for big space and their moji lights for next to your bed/reading individually.

They have come down in price a lot, still not cheap but my first Apollo lamp is more than ten years old.

When I say big space I don’t mean a ginormous tent as I don’t have one!

Thank you!

Camping at the moment. Using a couple of Makita DML802 18v led torches pointed at the ceiling to give a very bright overall light.

At 14 quid a pop they are cheap, but only if you have the batteries and chargers already.
