Any tips? Good places to eat? Trips for 5yr old? We don’t know the area at all. It might be a bit drizzly so we might need to keep busy.

Bolton Abbey welly walk
Billy Bob’s ice cream parlour
Skipton Castle
Malham
Brimham Rocks
The Coldstones Cut
Hesketh Farm

National Media Museum in Bradford if the weather is totally grim - also Eureka in Halifax or Royal Armouries in Leeds, but both a little further.

Great. Thanks.
I’ve never heard of Brimham Rocks or The Coldstones Cut so will google them.

Trips to Ilkley or Otley would be nice too - both have nice riverside playgrounds for the kids.
It's not too far to Harrogate either that has a lovely Valley Gardens playground and splash pool for the kids. Also cinema, swimming pool, soft play, shops etc if the weather isn't great.
To be honest it is such a lovely place you will hopefully have dry weather to enjoy it fully!

Otley Chevin (nice walks and views)
The cow and calf at Ilkley (also nice walks and views!)
Skipton Castle
Playing in the river at Bolton Abbey or Burnsall
If the weather is bad - cinema in Skipton or Ilkley, Dan's Den (soft play) in Ilkley, drinking hot chocolate at the Cavendish Pavilion or Billy Bob's.

The campsite at Catgill is lovely - nice people, lovely loos and showers, and fire pits. The field slopes a bit though.

If you are thinking of going next week remember it's the Yorkshire Show so it might be much busier than usual round the Harrogate area the days it is on.

Bizzie Lizzie’s fish and chips in Skipton (has a good children’s menu) and Betty’s tea rooms in Ilkley.

If you go to Bolton Abbey, follow the nature trails around Strid Wood where you can also play an I-Spy game by picking up a copy from Cavendish Shop. Plus all summer, there’s the free Welly Walk: a long assault course for children. Wear appropriate footwear, especially when it has been wet - it's not called the Welly Walk for no reason! A spare set of clothing is recommended!

There's a decent swimming pool in Keighley, and quite a few free council run museums dotted over the place- Cliffe Castle in Keighley and Bradford Industrial museum. The steam railway from Keighley to Haworth can be nice as well. There's a great toys and games shop in Hebden Bridge, which is also worth a look round.

Also Grassington is a nice big village, for a wander round the shops & a walk along the river.
