Hello

First time camping in a few weeks - only 2 nights so am easy intro! Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for kids sleeping bags and also inflatable/SIMs?

The HiloBoost is a soft, evenly-padded mummy-style sleeping bag. The zip is easy to use and the hood tightens well around the head. The best feature is the extendable section at the base, which you can unzip for 25cm of extra leg room as your kids grow taller making this a great long-term purchase. This is afar better option than just buying a bigger sleeping bag as too much empty bag at the bottom could make kids feet cold. It’s ideal for indoor and summer camping use and is also available in pink or blue.

I'd think your 7 year old would be fine in an adult sleeping bag. We got a normal Vango sleeping bag for my then 6 year old and he's been fine but he has always been tall for his age. We got a Vango kids sleeping bag for the 4 year old. It's shaped like an animal (can't remember which one!) and she likes it. It was a bargain, I wouldn't have bought it at full price as it wouldn't have been worthwhile as she'd obviously outgrow it fairly quickly. I think the other thing to be aware of with kids sleeping bags is they tend to be more summer/indoor sleeping bags. The kids Vango one is only 2 season, something I hadn't picked up on when I bought it.

In terms of what they sleep on, they both have Hi Gear SIMS and have been fine. I'm contemplating the Hi Gear bunk beds for them though to give us more floor space.

decathlon for sims and sleeping bag.
I would not get a too large sleeping bag for a wriggler.

We got junior sleeping bags for ours - bigger than kids ones but not full length. Only about 20£ and will be fine until they reach adult height so will get plenty of wear out of them

The pod sleeping bags of you have wrigglers. They are a kind of semi circle shape meaning they can roll around with no problem

I’d get a double self inflating mat for them to share. If you get singles you can often find they’ve rolled off onto the cold floor - not that they seem to feel it!

we put down 3 sims in the 2berth 'room' of the tent to cover the whole floor so no one wakes up with a cold bottom.

Thanks so much everyone ( managed to lose my phone so haven’t been online!).

Sorry for a further question but do you have any recommendations for a 4 berth tent? We won’t be doing loads of camping so something not too expensive would be great.

Thanks again!

We have a Coleman Mosedale which is a 5 berth, 4 of us fit easily and don’t feel squashed, plus it’s got blackout lining. Ideal for shorter camping trips.
