Sleeping bag recommendations for 5 yr old that will last

Need a sleeping bag for 5yo DD for first family camping trip in July in UK. She’s usually cold and I’m an experienced camper so well aware of temperature drops at night even in July. Not bought a new sleeping bag for decades though so no idea what to buy. Probably will get an adult one so it lasts. Needs to machine wash and ideally under £50 (sales perhaps?). Don’t want something rubbish, no paw patrol etc.... Can anyone help please?

I only have cheap ones (seem to work perfectly well) so can't recommend a make but I do have an adult mummy-style one for DC. They are good for keeping children warm and they stay in them better.

You need 3 season, with zip baffles.
3 season are generally more expensive.
This is good value with the 20% off at £48.

But any Vango or Outwell 3 season bag should be OK.

You can fold the bottom under, or tie it off at the bottom to make it shorter to keep the heat in.

Mine were not fans of narrow Mummy bags finding them too restrictive.

Make sure she has a foam mat under her, and you can roughly sew two fleece blankets into a tube to put the sleeping bag in if she is still cold. (loose blankets come off wriggly kids).

Thanks both. TO mummy or not to mummy then... will let her try mine out and see what she thinks of the space.

We've got two Vango sleeping bags and one Eurohike one. The difference in the quality is very noticable. One of the Vango ones is a kids one. We got it for a bargain price from Sports Direct. I wouldn't have bought it full price as my DD will obviously outgrow it in a few years but she has loved using it so far. I'm the one stuck with the Eurohike one - I'd like to buy a new one but since I've only used it a few times I can't really justify it ☹️

I think half the posts I see on camping Facebook pages about how cold it is at night are because people buy cheap / low quality sleeping bags.

I have always had Vango, 2 season, and am usually hot in the summer.

Dammit, too late. Just bought this one.... reckon it’ll be ok?? www.millets.co.uk/equipment/133692-eurohike-down-500-4-season-mummy-sleeping-bag.html

My Eurohike one was a lot cheaper than that, so it may be fine.

However that one has fairly mixed reviews and it seems a bit strange that it is a 4 season bag with a comfort rating of 7 degrees 🤔 Personally I'd be tempted to return it and swap it for the one linked to above or a Vango one. £50 isn't a small amount of money and I think you can find a better bag than that for the money but my experience is limited.
