Lake Annecy site recommendations

Has anyone been to a site taking tourers, on or close to Lake Annecy, that they could recommend? Even better if you have taken a dog, but all recommendations gratefully received.

I have been trawling reviews on the web but am still not sure where to go.

We are a family with 2 young adults (and Labrador) - not bothered about any entertainment, but would like a pool and ability to buy bread etc on or close to site. A restaurant would be nice but we happy to go off site.

We will be there early/mid July, so hopefully before the high season begins is earnest.

We stayed at Annecy last summer as part of a tour. We tried Camping Au Coeur du Lac, as it had great reviews and nearest the town but they were full.

We ended up at Camping l'Aloua, and it was great. There is no direct lake access, but some access a short walk away, and they are right on the cycle path. We cycled to Annecy town and then did the whole lake circuit (electric bikes helped!). If you stay there, the pitches furthest from the entrance have the best views of the mountains.

Both sites are ACSI so only €17/night with EHU when we went.

If you are touring that area, I would highly recommend a few nights use a short distance away in the mountains. We stayed at les domes de miage. The pitches are huge, views beautiful and it’s walkable to the Mont Blanc Tramway and some cablecar lifts!

Attached is a view from our pitch in the mountains.

Sorry, L’aloua had a small restaurant but no pool (you swim in the lake) and it’s a 5 min walk to a supermarket and a few restaurants. Dogs were there on site.

L'Ideal really good. Nice views and good pool.

Thanks for the responses, going to research the sites now.

Any recommendations of places to visit/eat?

We will definitely want to go into the mountains but not sure we want to move sites once settled!

Day trip to Chamonix and a train ride to the Mer du Glace - amazing.
Several luge runs in the area: Semnoz, La Clusaz, Chamonix - great fun.
Conflans medieval city, Albertville - lovely.
Col de la Forclaz - overlooks Lake Annecy - paragliding.

We went here www.camping-lac-bleu.com/

And loved it. Large enough for restaurant and pool but not an enormous site.

Direct lake access, pool, kids activities and stuff, but not OTT.
Loads to do in the area. take water stuff if you have it - inflatables, paddle board, kayak etc
Next door to public beach with pedalo hire, snack bar etc but not so close that it causes any noise issues
Cycle to Annecy, come back via boat.
Visit caves, mountains etc

Fab place
