I cant believe the price some of the places are asking for peak season. Its like £70 per night at some !
We would like to take our trailer tent somewhere around st ives or maybe newquay way ? Have 3 kids 15 12 abd 4.All i would like is showers and electric and a family site.
Dont mind being a bit out of the way at all if it makes it cheaper but would much rather go someone thats been recommended if pos.

I have a good book and have visited alot of sites down here. Live in Cornwall and have a touring caravan. Have lent book to parents buit when I get it back will let you know. We tend to do around St Austell/Mevagissey way. Don't do Newquay. Love St Ives.

Holywell Bay near Newquay is nice. look here

I'm not sure if this is the same site we stayed at a few years ago as we stayed in a caravan but the beach is lovely.

dustystar · 29/06/2007 17:15

What about here That would be less than £30 per night.

IncontinentAliceAKAjoash · 29/06/2007 17:17

Monkey Tree nr Perranporth & Nr Newquay. Cheap also has very good facilities

dustystar · 29/06/2007 17:19

these 2 sites are around the £30 or less mark as well

I can't do links, but I can recommend Pennance Mill near Falmouth. We've been several times and it's great!

Lucycat · 29/06/2007 17:31

ahem dustystar - we're going to Trevornick this summer!
so is giraffeski, but at different times.

not cheap but the dd's fancied the pool.

dustystar · 29/06/2007 17:32

I couldn't work out their tairff lucycat Do you just add the prices of the people together for a standard pitch? How much is it a night?

Lucycat · 29/06/2007 17:39

good question!

we have gone for an electric hook up pitch, then you pay for adults, children and a car - I think!

so not cheap at about £35 a night

but we paid before Jan 1st so got last year's prices and as it will take over 7 hours to get there we wanted to be able to choose our pitch and know what we are getting iykwim

You really are paying for the location I think.

Hi Fakeblonde

I'm not sure if it was trevornick we went to as it was about six years ago, sister booked it and we were in a caravan. It might have been the site next door or the whole place might be part of Trevornick but with Touring in a different field.

There is a clubhouse so there is some noise until about 11.00 but I don't remember it being too bad. Its worth it for the beach - only 15 mins walk and really lovely cove where you can let the children run about and see them easily.

Have a search on ukcampsite and see what reviews it has been given there.

dustystar · 30/06/2007 11:29

Have a look here

brandnewhelsy · 02/07/2007 13:20
