Double skin pop up tent help

Years and years ago I bought a double skin pop up tent. I am looking for another one as cheap as possible, just to be used in the garden during the summer for my little one. I can’t seem to find any double skin ones though.
Can anyone recommend please? As bargainous as possible price wise please, hoping to purchase one in the sales!Grin

Try Argos, or shop around yourself

PinkDaydreams · 29/12/2018 02:20

I have had a look online but they all seem to be single skinned unfortunately. Wondering if anyone has a double skinned already and can offer the name of it

Try the internet! Google 'double skin pop up tent' and lots come up. Mountain Warehouse do a cheap one.

JillScarlet · 29/12/2018 20:28

The Decathlon ones.

JillScarlet · 29/12/2018 20:32

Look at the Decathlon 2 Seconds range. They are very good.

PinkDaydreams · 29/12/2018 20:46

Thank you! I’ll have a look at those :)

I’ve googled and can’t actually find many double skinned pop up tents. Can anyone else recommend please? Don’t want to pay too much as it’s only for the little one to play in the garden with. I’ve seen the Quechua 2 seconds as recommended already but can’t seem to find any more.
Thank you Flowers

We got one for my FIL in the summer. I think it was from trespass.

BrieAndChilli · 30/12/2018 21:06

Also think sports direct might have had one when we were looking.

It was actually mountain warehouse Mountain Warehouse Pop Up Tent with Groundsheet - 3 Man Camping Tent, Water Resistant Family Tent, Double Skin, Easy Pitch, Lightweight Sleeping Tent- For Backpacking Trips Blue www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BFO1PJE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nttkCb611XNHW?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Thank you for the amazon link :) I wanted to spend around £40. Like I said, only for the garden. Me being picky wanting a double skinned one, they stay cooler than a single skin

Hi we have 3 double skin pop up tents. 2 are made by quecha and are 2 man. The other was a 3 man regatta. They are all pretty good in wind and rain but you need to practise folding them up!
Double skin pop up tents can be hard to find as most are single skin and therefore pretty useless. Also some makes don't make it clear as to wether they are single or double skin, so do your research.
I'd recommend quecha tents we've used ours for several years and they've been fine.

Does it have to be pop up?
The Eurohike Tamar, on sale on Millets website for £28 is incredibly easy and quick to put up, for example.

Do you want to sleep in it in tne garden? Or just as a play tent?

If you want a bit more spacious to sleep in look at the Olpro website where the 3 person knightwick tent is £49, and they have a small 2 person tent too. Tunnel design but very quick and easy to put up.

Blacks have a pop up on their website, a Eurohike Pop 400 DS that is taller and more spacious than the smaller Decathlon pop ups, £60.

PinkDaydreams · 30/12/2018 21:19

Thank you!
I used to manage an outdoor shop years ago, when the pop up tents first came out (must have been at least 12 years ago) , Gelert did a really good range of double skinned ones (which I bought one). After a couple of years though they stopped making them and replaced them with single skin so as to keep the weight down.
I was (here’s hoping I still am) a pro at folding them back up Grin

www.decathlon.co.uk/-id_8378283.html Double skin, around your budget. I've used Quechua in horrific weather and always stayed dry and the tebt stayed upright. Easy to put up. Not 2 seconds, but 2 minutes. Highly recommended.

PinkDaydreams · 30/12/2018 21:22

@Jill thank you. I’ve got it in my head I want a pop up so I can quickly fold it away at night and ping it back out the bag in the morning! Also, DH more likely to whip out a pop up, I can’t imagine him pitching a tent! I’ll take a look at that Eurohike one though thank you.

That Quechua keeps coming up so it must be good, thank you!

If it is for a day time play tent, I would just get a cotton play tent which will be much cooler than a polyester tent whether it has an inner or not.

The main advantage in being double skin is to stop condensation dripping on you at night. During this summer’s heat it was too hot to breathe in my well ventilated poly tent with inner.
