Hi, we are hoping to go on our first capming holiday with dd(3) and ds(1) we are in the market for a good family tent - budget up to £450. I was keen on the Outwell Georgia and the Vango Diablo but have read about them being difficult to pitch as not 'pitch in one' tents, plus hard to allign the sleeping pods. I have seen most of the Outwell range and like the Montana 6 for what looks like ease of erection ( tent porn?) but I'm not certain the bedrooms are big enough as will have DS in a travel cot and dd in ready bed and I would prefer tehm to be separate. I have seen teh Nebraska today and like the internal space , especially the porch and size of bedrooms but it does look more difficult to pitch.

So all you experienced campers and tent addicts, what would you recommend? We will only be camping in the UK and prob will start out weekends only first.

Nebraska is a fab tent - friends have it. Bedrooms good size and the porch is really useful. only difficulty is getting the poles clicked in while lifting it up. doable with 2 though I think.

Others really like the Montana I know.

We have the Hartford XXL, and can pitch it the 2 of us in an hour, is very spacious, but is inner first pitch.

We have this one , it is very similar to the montana 6 as regards pitching (but has bathtub ground sheet not sewn in) but it is bigger and has an extra bedroom which can be removed.
It takes me and dh about 30 minutes to put it up and about another 15 minutes to peg out and peg guy ropes.
There are 5 of us (me, dh, ds aged 13, dd aged 11 and ds aged 7) so there is lots of room in it, we love it.

Montana is good and quite easy to pitch. the room would be big enough for a cot and readybed too. It also has a smaller footpirnt than some of the dome tenst with all the sleeping pods.

We have a monty 6...and it's a really good tent...it's very easy to pitch and is excellent quality.
I think you would struggle to get a travel cot and a double air bed into 1 of the bedrooms...but you would be ok if you made the 2 bedrooms into one while the lo is in a travel cot....or you could have an adult air bed and a travel cot in one and and adult airbed and a ready bed in the other. That would be fine...but you would be apart from your dp.
We are a family of 4 (ds 10m ,dd 4) and the tent is more than big enough for us (living space is really big)...so if you can manage untill the lo is out of a cot...you will find it more than big enough

Seem to be leaning towards the Monty. I have only read good reviews about it. Troutpout, can you make the two bedrooms into one very large bedroom then? Does anyone have the canopy for the Monty?
