Park Resorts gold caravans

We are staying at Cayton bay in a 3 bed gold caravan this summer. My 3.75 yo and my 1 yo will be with us. As I don't want my youngest sleeping in a travel cot in the living area, (apparently travel cots don't fit in the bedrooms)I didn't request one at time of booking.

Has anyone stayed in one of these caravans? If I take one of these double bed guards, can you tell me if they will fit the beds in these caravans? If they don't, does anyone have any ideas what I could use to keep he safe, as she moves about quite alot in her sleep.

Grateful for any input, as we are caravan and camping virgins

Hiya

We satyed in one a few years ago (s an upgrade mind due to dodgy alarms in our bronze one LOL)

We did use a travel cot in the livinga rea, although DS3 couldn't have escaped ahd he wanted to.

I think one of those bedguards would do it from memory, I cant see why not.

Actually the caravan was lovely- really nice. Would you like me to put DH's sad look-what-we-got-for-free photos and video clip on my phototrail for you?

FLIER · 08/06/2007 13:34

Peachy, that would be lovely, if its not toooo much bother.

Thanks,

flier does your bed guard adjust in width? Caravan beds tend to be narrower than a normal 3ft single, i'd say max 2'6". Also the mattresses are fairly lightweight and can slip around a bit. You might want to put a chair next to the bed to hold it all together.
Or do what we invariably ended up doing - baby and me in double, DH in single
It is worth ringing that caravan park. IME the better rated caravans are privately owned and very a lot. At this stage they may know which one you have been allocated and can advise accordingly. We've had vans which have a three-sided cot-size bedguard which sits on top of the mattress and fixes to the wall.

Why don't you use the bed in the living area and put a travel cot (or inflatable bed?) in living area?

Not sure about this particular company but all have caravans have pull out beds in lounge.

PITA that you have to make every night, and if he goes to bed much before you but not the end of the world.

SlightlyMadStilton · 10/06/2007 09:14

Or buy 2 single bed guards which fit on independantly so bed width isn't a problem.

Or 1 single bed guard and put him in with the oldest?
